Like if you secretly hope the day of the event some lowly intern left in charge of Xbox LIVE accidentally releases Minecraft 360 early before anyone higher up realizes it and takes it back down prior to at least 20,000 downloads.

@The Tim I was thinking the same thing lol. I've been through six 360's and finally got the new slim. I still have the original HDD's for the old ones and no intentions of selling them.

Wonder how many eBay HDD sales just got pulled by the sellers lol. MS needs to address this before a lawsuit happens over it by someone not bound by their TOS. Let's just hope this isn't their plan to sell us a new "HDD shredder wiper cleaner eraser formatting " app for $34.99

I don't mind getting more for my money but if they keep jacking up their prices citing bogus reasons for the increases they won't see my business anymore. These apps are a nice distraction between games but I don't want to see my console dissected into a shell OS running various pay-for-apps. It's bad enough that they blatantly toss commercials from Ben Gay to Tyson's Chicken on everything from the dash to before video clips. I don't turn on my gaming console to see ads, especially if they are not even gaming related.

If MS history is any indicator they are simply paving the way slowly for what is to come. Little by little introducing things into the community until we get used to it and overlook how it changes what we once enjoyed for far less.

How could GameStop possibly be out of the running? They practically attach leeches to their customers wallets!

It wouldn't bother me so much if it wasn't for the fact that they are cannibalizing the industry. First it's "micro-transactions and ads in games and next it will be "games for the arcade are $25 so we need to increase games in disc to $70 and label them "premium" to differentiate them from arcade titles. Between the shady pricing that goes up and down in the captive "arcade" market and the blatant chop-shopping of finished games to sell bits and pieces as DLC I'm afraid this current gaming industry is far from the one that gamers first fell in love with.

Clever tactic there. Get everyone excited for an early spring release of Minecraft, then say nothing at all about it for a few days before or after the dates rumored to be the release date, then WHAM! Announce it's release at 1600msp. Why don't they just stop fronting and say they've moved on to macro-transactions?

I only walk into GameStop IF I have no other choice to see if they can offer up any new info on a game I'm interested in. More often than not they can't. Other than that I stopped shopping there since I supposedly purchased (according to their employee) "The last brand new copy of Borderlands"... only to get home, open it, and find a dirty scratched up CD-R disc in the case instead. I immediately returned it and demanded my money back and suddenly they had more copies and knew it was a returned copy some customer duped them with and shrink wrapped himself.
