Stopped playing after I got to the first big firefight after taking the sniper out with the rocket launcher during the first part of the game. Got two achievements and popped it out and gave it back to my friend who owned it. Just felt way too floaty even after adjusting the settings numerous times.
The CGI was ok, nothing I haven't seen before in my past years working with 3D, but the acting outside of the old man was horrible. The guy who found the helmet, could he be any less excited? I mean if I just found the vital tech that required a whole unit to be deployed to find, I might be a bit more excited. Not even the rest of the guys seemed to be very excited with an overall collective "meh" by them at the news of it. Then the guy with the glasses? I would have dropped his behind from the production ASAP and replaced him with someone who actually valued the results of the final movie. Either go all in or don't do it at all. Overall nothing I didn't expect from $200 but I have to question that final number as the software needed alone to do the CGI costs more than that.
This would be great news if it wasn't for the very real fact that it's only being done to stimulate sales. The XBLA has taken a hit these last few months (in fact developers as a whole have taken a hit with gaming sales actually being reported as lower than expected) and since the only way to get more achievements is to purchase new ones with DLC or from a new game, the idea is to dangle them out like carrots to stimulate some movement in the market again. MS ain't dumb—they know how to hustle their crack and yayo.
Perhaps if they shot one portal at the end of the assembly line, and the other at the shelves in the local store the customers could just reach straight through and pick the guns right out as they come off the assembly line to speed up the delay?
@moroboshi I have to agree. It's quite annoying to check into new DLC and have to scroll five times over to get past all the harmonix spam. MS really needs to devise a method to filter out content you're not interested in other than bing.
Not for nothing but as an Xbox 360 owner I've gone through seven consoles all lost to the RRoD. After the first one died I began to treat those thigs better than most people treat their children. They all eventually burned out and failed usually in one or two years almost consistently. I finally got a slim and knock on wood so far so good. But I have to wonder how many of these sales are just repeat customers replacing their old burned out units? :^\
It's a great game but it will get old just as fast as Barry's jetpack can fly him from one end of your mobile devices screen to the other. Not much here after the challenges. Hopefully the gadgets will extend this one as it the music and colorful characters really do make this title shine.
I wonder if the boy bonding with the horse is named Milo? Sure do wonder what happened to him after that tech demo where he looked suicidal. Mostly when I'm yelling and screaming at my well calibrated Kinect "XBOX!! XBOX!! @$#%!!! XBOX!!! APPS!! ugh...APPS!!...Netflix...argh!! NETFLIX!!! sonofahbiscuitmunchin'! Da'ell won't this thing respond!? @&$%#!! Will somebody pass me the dang controller!! It's on the otherside of the room!! $%¥#!!"
