-Deployed 418,000 troops between 1914 & 1918, answering a call from Britain as we were, and are, a part of the British Empire.
-Second Canadian Brigade holds off German forces in St.Julien in 1915 for three days and three nights after the trenches had been obliterated, refusing to retreat.
-During the 2nd Battle of Ypres in 1915, 6000 Canadians died defending France, turning the tide in the offensive.
-The Battle of the Somme in 1916 cost Canada 24,000 lives, but confirmed Canadian troops as some of the World's best, and gained them respect and a reputation as hard hitting and fearless.
-Canada went on to capture Courcelette, a major part of the Somme offensive.
-In 1917, Canada captued Vimy Ridge, something our French and British brothers had failed to do, and was our greatest victory in the War.
-A Canadian, Roy Brown, shot down the Red Baron.
-233,000 Canadian dies in WWI.
WWII
-From 1940 to 1941, Canada was the largest Allied Military Force after France fell to Germany. Yes, we were there first.
-140 Canadian pilots flew in the Battle of Britain, shooting down close to 80 Germans.
-Canadians were among the first troops to fight the Japanese, many were mistreated POW's and died from malnutrition.
-Canada made up 80% of the fighting force in the Battle of Dieppe of 1942, at the time was the biggest offensive against Hitler's Europe.
-25% of the defending forces in Malta were Canadians.
-The Royal Canadian Air Forces flew the missions over the beaches during D-Day, and we had 14,000 troops on the ground during the offensive.
-80% of the ecort convoys in the Atlantic Offensive were Canadian.
-Bombing missions cost the lives of 10,000 Canadians.
That's just scratching the surface. More recently:
-516 Canadian soldiers died in the Korean War.
-Thousands of Canadian soldiers VOLUNTEERED to fight alongside the US in Vietnam.
-For the first time since Korea, Canadian troops were sent abroad offensively during the first Gulf War.
Additionally, we have led Peace Keeping missions in Kosovo, Haiti, Afghanistan, and on and on.
I know you weren't looking for a history lesson, but I thought you should know some of our accomplishments based on your statement. Finally, did you know that a Canadian wrote "In Flander's Field" which is recited at pretty much every war memorial around the World to this day (ie: Veteran's Day, Remembrance Day.)
Also, to tie this in, I'd say some of the above would make for a pretty damn compelling video game.

Anyone heard of those kids who "re-made" Raiders of the Lost Ark in the 80's? They now have picture deals at major Hollywood studios.
