If you consider that most people on this site probably paid 250-300 dollars for an Xbox or PS3 unless they just recently got one, and the fact that anyone with a desktop probably spent 400-800 dollars on it anyway, you could've just gotten a gaming computer for the money you saved not buying a console. Now I realize that for some people this is still impractical if they want to play with their friends who have consoles, but I'm just saying that people who primarily game on PC don't really pay anything more than everyone else does for gaming+computing.

Why is 1000 the magic number when people talk about gaming PCs? You realize that you can get a computer that will easily outpace "current-gen" consoles for ~$650 right? The amount of willful ignorance people have about computer gaming is ridiculous. And I love console gaming, don't get me wrong. I just hate ignorance.

Exactly, I was confused and had to look up GTA IV's release date in Europe to be sure but then I was still really confused.

If you actually use Phoenix in Ultimate, I applaud you.

@Dick Socrates It's not even like the DLC characters are essential to the experience. I haven't bought any of the DLC characters and I don't really feel like I'm missing anything. The game on its own is more than worth the price, as this is an excellent fighting game. If you don't want the DLC, then don't buy it, but don't blame the fact that you won't buy it on that because the core game itself is absolutely worth the money.

As much as I despise Activision, I tend to agree with Eric Hirshberg in this situation. Why not just let the game speak for itself when it comes out? I'm sure Battlefield 3 will win over tons of fans, but someone from EA badmouthing Modern Warfare 3 without provocation is pretty classless.
