Review: Sugar

Apr 6th 2009 7:53PM (Cinematical)
Wayne,

No, it does not. "Sugarball" is about baseball as an institution in the D.R., how it got there and what it means for Dominicans. "Sugar" the movie is about an individual, an immigrant who plays baseball. Two different things...

Only 146k iPhone activations?

Jul 24th 2007 8:40PM (TUAW.com)
Forbes.com has a good take on these numbers: 146,000 activations are still more that 1 activation per second, from the time the iPhone was available on june 29th until the close of the june quarter 30 hours later. According to Forbes.com, people have gotten used to Steve Jobs magic touch and are simply expecting too much. You know, I think they're right on the money.
Read the whole think in the link and see if you agree too...

SofaTube brings YouTube to Wii/PS3 couch potatoes

#25 – Hey razer, I do love my xbox 360 but I’m far from a blinded fanboy (although I check the xbox360fanboy.com site daily, I get most of my gaming news from joystiq.com) or a “corporate spank” dealing with “Internet Explorer crap”. I do have a PC at home, but my main computer is a Mac G5 and I’ve been doing my browsing with mozilla firefox since the days it was available only as beta.

I have no idea why you need to insult everyone here with your flaming and irrelevant comments about people keeping a PC in their living room. Lucky you if you live in a castle, but if you’re just starting up and can afford only a small apartment or studio, that doesn’t make you a nerd (By the way, if you actually had a GF, I don’t think she would mind having a PC in the living room).

Finally, about people want in a browser in the xbox 360, why don’t you go and check it yourself: http://www.xbox360fanboy.com/2006/12/22/important-or-not-surfing-the-net-on-your-360/#comments.

Xbox 360 video download service succeeding, others failing

Dec 25th 2006 12:22PM (Joystiq)
I do like the download service a lot, but I hate having to browse for movies using only the remote. So I will either add a convenient search feature or better yet something that allow me to select my movies from a web browser. That way, I can log on using my msn account at work, select the movies I want (similar to what I do with my netflix account) and when I'm at home and turn on my xbox, the movie will start downloading automatically.
I mean, right now I have to wait at best 3 working days to get my movies from netflix, so waiting for a HD movie to download is not a problem for me.
By the way, I have not downloaded any movie as of now (only CSI episodes). I would like to know, do movies come with the same content as a DVD? Meaning, multiple language, director commentary and that kind of stuff..?

#7. You could do all xbox 360 users such as me a great favor by posting a top 10 or top 5 reasons why having a browser in your console is a good idea. The only reason I can think of if not having a computer to browse from.
When I get home, I use my computer to browse the web, check my email, chat with my friends, watching fun videos in youtube, etc. etc.
Then I use my console to play games. That's all! Yes, there's nothing wrong with having the ability to watch youtube in your Wii. But let's say you want to comment on a video, do you use the wiimote to write? or do you attach a keyboard to your console? Yes, you can replicate your PC/Mac/whatever functionality in your console. But, why would you want to do that?

Developer: U.S. Army didn't want vulnerabilities in game

Nov 27th 2006 9:50PM (Joystiq)
Yes, we should expect an even viewpoint, because this is a recruitment tool, not just a game. So accuracy should be a desired quality for such a "game". After I came out of high school, I took the army ASVAB test and I aced it. The recruiter said I was a perfect candidate and basically told me that I should join because the army was a "fun place to be" or something like that.
I know it wasn't, so I changed my mind and didn't join. Had he told that army life was hard but rewarding, I probably would've joined. And IMO, that's what games that are used as recruitment tool should reflect, not some fantasy land where your enemies are dummies that just stand there to be killed.
