Building A Machine for Pigs and expanding the universe of Amnesia
Feb 24th 2012 11:57AM (Joystiq)Or at least, it would suffer for it.
The way you interact with the environment in the games would be hard to replicate on anything other than a mouse.
Binary Domain demo drops into US Feb. 14 for PS3, Feb. 15 for Xbox
Feb 15th 2012 8:35PM (Joystiq)The voice commands dont seem to have any effect at all on what your partners are doing, and mapping running, jumping, rolling, hopping over cover, ducking behind cover... all to the same button is just full of problems.
I kept sticking to walls when I was just trying to run past it, every now and then the character would jump over a wall rather than duck behind it and other times refuse to jump over it at all.
Seems a little strange when as far as I can tell L3 and R3 were left unused.
Could be a fun game, but I'll wait for the price to drop.
Reminds me of Vanquish a little bit.
Rayman Origins is actually profitable for Ubisoft
Feb 15th 2012 4:59PM (Joystiq)It seems like it would be really easy for them to implement, and I really want to play some more!
I pre-ordered the special edition for ps3 when it first came out and and its the first game I pre-ordered for my vita so I can play it whenever I want!

Feb 14th 2012 12:03PM (Joystiq)When it travelled around to unusual locations you never really get to visit in games?
That was nice. (even if the first game was a bit pants)
PSA: PSN accounts changing to Sony Entertainment Network accounts Feb. 8
Feb 5th 2012 8:17AM (Joystiq)PSN is what I love.
The Vita could have been thinner, or huge, or a clamshell
Feb 3rd 2012 4:48PM (Joystiq)Its come up in a few articles I've read that Sony had planned one thing until a developer said they would prefer something else.
They were initially going to have a single analogue stick apparently.
European retailer Game puts a plaster over its money wound

Right next to the HMV!
European retailer Game puts a plaster over its money wound
Feb 3rd 2012 3:50PM (Joystiq)I used to really like them, but recently they have become one of the most seedy retailers I have ever known.
A few weeks ago the Game near my Uni had a "Half Price off everything!" sale, but the day before the sale they inexplicably put the prices up by about £20 on all of the games.
On top of that, all the brand new games that come out and are £39.99 EVERYWHERE else have a bad tendency to cost £49.99 there.
When Modern Warfare 3 came out they were charging £59.99 for it!
I see them do stuff like this CONSTANTLY, and it really can not be good for them.
One thing I worry about though, is that there are two game stores in the same town.
One is in the very centre, is tiny and all the people that work there are awkward horrible shits.
They refused to give me a refund for a game they had JUST sold me that had a massive scratch going across the disk.
The other is more out of the way in some of the side streets.
It is easily tripple the size, they ALWAYS put lots of effort into getting displays to look nice and having sample games running, they dress up in costumes whenever new games came out, (one of the women there went through the effort of making an entire Harley Quinn and Dragonborn costume!)
And just the other day one of the guys behind the counter was just handing out his PS Vita to people to play with.
Not a store preview copy, his OWN personal PS Vita that he had payed a shit ton to import from Japan!
Lexis Numerique explains Amy's PSN price disparity, poll to decide US price
Jan 7th 2012 9:50AM (Joystiq)It makes me dislike buying things from stuff like Xbox Live and lots of online games because it causes all sorts of really awkward little situations like this.
Not only that, I dont see ANY benefits to it other than maybe people being a bit more careless with the amount there spending and the company getting a bit more money.
Because of that I always buy a game on psn or steam over xbla, its just much more pleasant when it actually tells you the exact amount of money that you are spending nice and clearly.
