What do they mean by "unlimited"? Because if you put that with "customers will have access to whatever games they download as long as they maintain a subscription"; then it probably means I pay a fixed amount monthly and download all the games I want for no extra charges? Because honestly it sounds ridiculous.
@ZildjianKX Funny you mentioned playing 3D with OpenGL, I did just that a few minutes ago, even before reading your reply. Man, it was a good game back in its time, but these days have long since passed.
Speaking of mine carts, I rather enjoy almost all the new stuff they added to DNF, they just add more to the fun. You may call it silly, but we don't get a lot of this stuff nowadays. My friend and I still find the game funny, and in contrast with these days' options, it was meant to be a game, not a serious franchise aiming towards realism and Hollywood-style action.
This review is simply unfair. Any Duke fan would totally appreciate this game, not for what it has to offer, but for what it's about, and what it resembles.
Don't we, sometimes, remind ourselves of the good old days? Well, we're getting some now, aren't we? And if anything; I wouldn't go compare this to Bulletstorm, regardless of how close they are "genre-wise", in my opinion, these have 2 completely different approaches.
I still like the 90's humor of Duke. I mean it doesn't necessarily have to be funny, but it fits, it's a critical part of the game, and apparently it was still good enough to be a meme, even to this day.
In my opinion you missed the whole point of the game, it's how idiotic, outdated and disappointing that makes it one last blast from the past. And personally I find it a perfect comeback, not being a fanatic here, it's been a long long time since I last played DN3D, but because I can't imagine Duke in any other way but with his silly, ever living humor owning stupid A.I. on poor map designs.
I've always wanted sort of an enhanced version of DN3D, and I got what's even better. I'd give it 4 stars on my end, it deserves it, it brought me back some good memories in better graphics and more ass kicking.
