gPotato closing Prius Online, compensating players through April 10th

I know it makes sense as far as their incomes go. What I meant by my post was it just seems like a stupid idea. I would never spend a penny on a game that was literally days away from shutting down forever.

Just my 2 cents (pun severely intended.)

Even 1% of the former price seems too steep for a game that is literally on the brink of death. Why not just make everything free and go out in style?

Anarchy Online's new graphics engine wows Funcom

I've been playing this game for ages and this is great news. It's been a long time since they announced the new engine so I am hoping it actually does come out in the near future. AO is a fantastic game that would benefit greatly from the kind of improvements that are mentioned in that update (server merge, and also a new starter zone in particular - many people never seem to leave the current one because it's a bit confusing for newbies.)

Highly tempted to borrow my dad's macbook and try this server out. I actually played here briefly back in 2004 or so, but I did not stay long because of some real-life time commitments, and by the time I was able to focus on an MMO again, WoW was already out, and I gave that a try.

These emails are pretty inspiring though. I would love to see a time-locked EverQuest.

City of Heroes lets low-level players go Drowning in Blood

I always like seeing developers add in things for non-max level players, especially dungeons. It's uncommon with the big titles. If I recall correctly, the last time WoW added a dungeon that wasn't purely intended for max level players was Dire Maul in patch 1.3, March of 2005.

Pretty neat how Cash Cash contributed to the new song mix as well (they were responsible for the Sonic Colors theme, if you didn't know.) :)

@Razer922 Yeah that was the one, thanks. :)

Yeah.. I'm not gonna hold my breath for any worthwhile changes or restructuring of this network. I stopped watching it many years ago. I saw an ad in a old magazine from 2003 or so the other day, with a full page spread for G4 and all their shows when they were getting started. I really loved watching pretty much all of them, namely Portal, Icons, Judgment Day, and the name escapes me of the other one, but it was the show about competetive gaming where two teams would go head to head on games like Call of Duty, SOCOM, etc.

The Daily Grind: What's the most iconic MMO city?

@Calen Exactly what I came here to post. I miss seeing dozens of people there constantly, and remember quite a few ARK events starting there. One of my favorites had two ARK members leading a gang of about 12 of us through Omni Forest until we got to a little campsite, and they told us scary stories complete with visual effects and spawning monsters. So awesome.
