Lighten up!: On thematic consistency in role-playing games

Minor nitpick, but Elder Scrolls didn't actually have cat people until Morrowind. Before that, Khajiit were more like regular humans with facepaint.

I Am Alive not planned for PC due to piracy concerns

It's been about a year since I've last bought a Ubisoft game. I remember being really excited about Red Steel 2 and Forgotten Sands, but I still haven't played them because of Ubisoft's general disdain for their paying customers, especially on the PC side, which sort of turns me off of the company as a whole.

Duke Nukem Forever review: Fail to the King, Baby

Bulletstorm as the "true successor" to Duke Nukem 3D? Naaaah. Not that Bulletstorm isn't a great game, but it's like saying that Ratchet & Clank is the true successor to Banjo-Kazooie or something. It's not at all the kind of experience I would want out of a modern Duke Nukem game. Maybe Serious Sam would be a better comparison, but even then, they aren't similar enough that I would consider one a replacement for the other. Beyond that:

-On the PC version, I experienced no problems with laggy aiming, or lag in general. Also, load times weren't so bad for me.
-The level design is alright. I like the attention to small details that you wouldn't get in a lot of modern AAA shooters. At the very least, there are a lot of neat, original ideas explored here, even if they are a bit hit-or-miss.
-I don't care much about presentation, but it seemed fine to me. You can nitpick the graphics, but really, we've gotten to the point where even mediocre graphics still look great.
-I don't care about how "modern" the game is, either. In fact, some of the "modernization" they did add, I could go without. My favorite FPS of the past ten years was Painkiller, which was essentially a huge throwback to Quake 1. Then again, I'm one of these weird people who
still keeps their SNES hooked up.

It ain't perfect, but if you're the type who can appreciate a game that's just fun for the sake of fun, then you're probably the type who can appreciate Duke Nukem Forever. I expect to see it on this list somewhere: http://features.metacritic.com/features/2011/game-critic-scores-vs-user-reviews/
