I would love to see this happen as well.. Except I have this gut feeling that it's going to be Ultima On Facebook-- Not really too much of a fan of this social nonsense.

Which is a shame, because mage/knight, gm'ing every skill, maxing animal taming to get nightmares, and pvping on the bridge of britannia is some of my favorite moments in gaming ever. Too bad it will probably never feel like that again..

FWIW Garriott went to space after TR to try to generate hype for his game--Least that was the official response. I could see that, i mean dude WENT TO SPACE for his space game lol.

I have faith in Garriott and would love to see him return to form. By this I mean Alkalabeth or U4 style--Pre Ultima7 even. Im talking about space ships, martian dreams, SAVAGE FRONTIERS lol. Ultima has a special place for me :P

Wait, I forgot one more thing that happened recently. I went to Gamestop and wanted to buy MK VS DC for 360 (Don't ask), and looked online, and saw it was $24.99. Was like screw it, ill probably get a few hours out of it.

I went to the store to get it, and it was all of a sudden $27.99 in the store. I asked the guy why the game was $3 cheaper ON THEIR OWN WEBSITE and he gave me another serious attitude, and said it's BECAUSE THEY CAN OFFER DEASL?!@\ or some crazy gibberish.

So let me get this straight. Gamestop won't even price match THEIR OWN GODDAMN STORES?!@#? lololol.

I long for the days that my mall was full of Walden Software's, Babbages, and Electronic's Boutique's. Not these goddamn CROOKS gameflop.

I would just like to comment, that as a 29yr old gamer, and someone who has been through every game store known to man, Can i strongly suggest to people avoiding Gamestop like the plague? They have the worst, most QUESTIONABLE business practices known to man, and their employees treat customers like idiots, and give serious attitudes.

First, is the selling used copies as new fiasco that gamestop loves to do. I ask for a new copy, i'm told to get the worn, used box off the shelf to use as my disc holder? Uhm.. I asked for a NEW game--Yet the employee affirms me that I need to get the disc box off the shelf, to wit i respond--But i can goto BestBuy and get the game in a shrink wrapped box? Again--I get harassed, and almost yelled at, demanding that gamestop is selling new games. Whatever the case, and whatever fanboy's might argue, IM BEING SOLD A USED GODDAMN GAME AS NEW. That is the bottom line. This situation aggravated me to the point where I had to leave, the employees demeanor was absolutely atrocious.

There are just soo many bad examples of customer service, and policies in this store, Please, PLEASE do not buy anything from Gamestop.

If you need to pre-order cataclysm, or the CE, do so on Bestbuy's website, they are still selling it, and you don't even have to deal with any angsty 16 yr old Gamestop employees to do it.

Also, Why does every Gamestop from NY to CA smell like a sweaty 14 yr old's armpit? That's just another observation. Is it the carpets? The people that shop there? I don't get it :)

Anyway, my 2 cents.

The thing that disappoints me is Bill Roper downplays his role in every one of these scenarios, and tries to reinforce the fact that he's "a gamer." Which, im pretty sure by now, is an insult, and a slap in the face to any REAL gamer on the face of the planet.

Gamers simply dont nickel and dime each other like the above posters said. They also don't do such questionable tactics as make people pay for lifetime subscriptions BEFORE THEY CAN EVEN SEE THE GAME?

Also, lets not mention the fact that CO and STO retail boxes are going for HALF PRICE not even 2-3 months after release.

How can Roper actually sit there and try to justify himself?

PS Bill: Hellgate Tokyo is coming out, and I bet that's still better than STO or CO.

Don't worry, as soon as people invest time in Aion, and also realize that it's a HORRIBLE GRINDFEST, they will come back to WoW/Co/what-have-you. Personally, my cleric is closing in on 25 in Aion, and that's not without a shit ton of time already invested.

As to what phone-guy said, would you like me to dig up the pages, and pages, and pages, and pages of complains about FPS on the forums? Would you like me to re-iterate the part that i've said before in CO forums about working on pc's my entire life. Getting enough extended memory for Ultima7 to run in DOS with sound AND a mouse driver? Get over yourself, it's self-righteous, indulgent people like yourself that skew the very realistic nature of a game like CO.

I am the voice of reality in some regard. Beit from fanboys, or people who think you don't know what your talking about ever. Maybe you should've actually paid attention to the CO forums instead of living in your own bubble where the game works fine. There is a bigger picture here, not just yourself.

Finally, Roper DOES have the say on CO changes. How is that not calling the shots for the game? Please enlighten me.. He is the one who is responsible for making the TERRIBLE decision to nerf xp gain, WITHOUT replacement quests in the pipeline to replace the lost xp. He is the one who made the decision to NOT let us respec further down the line(because of cost/etc).

Pretty sure you should get your head out of the clouds, and come back to planet earth where the rest of us live, and finally-

Your GODDAMN RIGHT i do. When I put down my $50 for a video game, i expect it to run and work at the expected level of performance. Not game-breaking results days after launch.

I agree 100% with that article, and he didnt even mention the fact the game ran at 10fps for like 80% of the population for the first month, and they had NO IDEA WHY.
