Penny Arcade Adventures storms XBLA on May 21st

May 13th 2008 1:30PM (Joystiq Xbox)
1600 points isn't bad for this type of episodic content. My question is, if it is being distributed as part of XBLA does it fit into the file size limit? I find it a little hard to believe it does if Street Fighter was having trouble. If it doesn't fit could it just be distributed via Marketplace like demos currently are, and not specifically XBLA?

Hey Bungie, include open chat in Halo 3!

I don't want to hear smack talk from prepubescent kids.

I don't want my teammates have to listen to me cry out in agony and curse when I get killed.

I like the dpad to chat, and the proximity chat for team mates only.

I can see making open chat available, but until people learn how to behave themselves on live I think the default is to silence the jerks by default.

Happy 10th un-birthday Duke Nukem Forever!

I was 18, writing a school assignment 'What will you be doing in 10 years?'. Funny enough I said I would be writing about how DNF still wouldn't be out on a 'blog'. My teacher failed me, saying she didn't know what a blog was, to be fair, either did I.

120GB HDD transfer limited to one 20GB HDD

Mar 29th 2007 8:01PM (Joystiq Xbox)
This was an obvious solution to anyone who had spent the time thinking about it.

Microsoft allows you to download copyright drm protected content to your hard drive only, a restriction made by content providers. Microsoft could easily allow any content to be placed onto a usb device. They don't have to 'man up' or 'grow a pair'. To provide the content people are asking for (tv, movies, etc) they have to get the content.

If you want to get a larger hard-drive, then they have to give the content providers reassurance that you will not be able to duplicate the content. Thus the one shot data transfer.

Any legally purchased content can be re-downloaded from Marketplace with the account you originally purchased it with.

If you want the content, you have to abide by the licensing, regardless of how much you disagree with it (as I do).

What is interesting to me is to see if Microsoft continues to increase its marketshare of high-def content sales it may end up putting them in a better bargaining position.

Crackdown glitches already found

Jan 24th 2007 2:43PM (Joystiq Xbox)
A demo and a full game will diverge at some point. Fixes will go into the game that may not make it into the demo, as the demo's goal is to quickly be completed and get out of the way of real development.

On the plus side if you decide not to buy the full game because of a bug in the demo it should mean you have slightly improved my odds of getting the game.
