Written in the S.T.A.R.S.: Capcom dreams of CoD fans playing Resident Evil

Jan 21st 2012 12:36PM (Joystiq)
Listen Capcom, I'm no expert here, but instead of worrying about going after this audience or that audience, maybe you should just...make...good...games? And then, if you have the confidence to advertise your good game correctly *COUGH SHADOWS OF THE DAMNED COUGH*, people will hear about it and hear that it is good and want to buy it because it is good. And then you get their money, and it doesn't even matter whose audience they are because now they're YOUR audience.

Maybe I'm just old-fashioned.

Oh, that's good to hear. There's a very limited supply of reasonable people on the internet, and I would hate to lose one.

Those lenseless glasses really do annoy me though.

I got my fill of this sort of discussion the last time there was a pony article on Joystiq, so I'm not trying to convert anyone here, but I have to ask, do you seriously equate masculinity with the kind of clothes someone wears? Or even what kind of TV shows they watch? That seems like a horribly shallow idea of what manhood is to me.

Sorry to get all "SERIOUS BUSINESS" here, but I usually agree with your opinions on this site and your statement really bothers me for some reason.

Joystiq Top 10 of 2011: Dark Souls

Jan 2nd 2012 9:49AM (Joystiq)
I love Dark Souls, and there's no way for me to adequately sum up my feelings on it, so I will content myself with this:

Dark Souls is, to date, the only videogame that has ever driven me to drink.

I love Illusion of Gaia. It was the first real Adventure/RPG I ever owned,

I normally try to stay impartial when it comes to anon, but if these clowns keep me from playing online BlazBlue matches for a whole month AGAIN I'm going to break out the Genesic Emerald Tager Buster on some unsuspecting neckbeards

Um, I realize that expression gets trotted out a lot, but there's a good reason for it: it refers to a decision handed down by the SUPREME COURT regarding the limits of the first amendment. It can't be a cliche because it's not a figure of speech, it's a reference to a specific legal precedent that still influences the way the law is enforced today.

I gotta hand it to GSC, I don't think I've ever seen a studio keep fighting to stay alive so long after announcements of its purported death. Must be that hard-bitten Ukranian stoicism.

Best of luck to ya, gents.

Humble Indie Bundle 4 abused by Scrooge-like Steam scamming

@Dick Socrates

Amazing, you were able to divine my opinions on wars, famine, bombings, executions, rapes, AND murders from a comment on a gaming blog. I'm impressed.

The truth is, most people will never rape, murder, or bomb anyone, because you can be severely punished for those things. Many, many people however, will do thousands of shitty little things throughout their lives, like scamming a charity, when there is a very small chance that they'll be caught or minimal consequences if they are.

In fact, the people who did this probably thought to themselves, "With all the wars, famine, bombings, executions, rapes, and murders in the world, who cares if I bend the rules a bit to score some free games?"
