OK, that might have been a slight over exaggeration. I have not played it in a while, they might have updated it, but when it launched the menu system was archaic and felt very old, and that menu music was the icing on the cake with horrific 70's porno style tunes.
Yes Forza has less cars, but they are all the same quality, not split with most cars being poorer quality than others (800 of the 1000 are GT3 ports). That, to me was extremely jarring and lacked the cohesive and premium feel Forza has. They were split into different lists with different features etc, it just struck me as odd.
The 1000 cars Vs 500 is not really fair, SO many of those cars are duplicates of Skylines, RX-7's and other Japanese cars. Forza has a healthy selection of cars spanning all countries, classes and styles. You cannot deny that GT is bias to Japanese cars and if you love the JDM scene , I have no problem with that, I just like a broader range of cars.
In regards to the damage modeling comment. I like to race as clean as possible, but that cannot be said for others racing online. Including damage modeling and performance reduction encourages people to have cleaner races. Not to mention, when you are racing hard and over shoot a corner, the damage your car receives is realistic (as current gen hardware allows). Isn't that the idea of these games, to make it as close to realistic as possible?
I feel that Turn 10 had a plan of action launching a complete game and strategically launching DLC. Polyphony just seemed to launch an unfinished game and have tried to fix it with random updates, but again, it just doesn't feel as quality and thought out as the Forza franchise.
At the end of the day it's all down to preference. I have the luxury of having both systems and games. Most of the people reading this are PS3 owners and rightly tend to be bias. From one car enthusiast gamer to another, give Forza 3 or 4 a try for a week or 2 if you have the chance, you might be pleasantly surprised :)
Oh yeah, what was I thinking, you are right... being able to drive a car 150 MPH into a hairpin barrier with no damage is awesome and really adds lifelike features to a simulation driving game. Oh not to mention the fact that only a handful of the cars are 'high res' the rest are straight ports from GT3. I'm not a hater, I'm just stating my opinion, I have a PS3 and Xbox and been playing games for over 20 years, I'm also a huge automotive enthusiast. I've extensively played all Forza and GT games and there is no comparison now days. Many moons ago, GT was the dominant driving game but they have not adapted with the times. GT just looks and feels old (bar the select cars that are high res). Even the menu system and music selection just screams last gen. They released the game before it was ready and have been unsuccessfully been playing catch up for the past year. Sorry buddy, Forza is just a superior game on all fronts.
Thanks for trying, but give it up, this ship sailed a long time ago... thanks Gran Turismo we had some fun a few years ago, but aside from some flashy graphics, you are still the same game from 2001. Forza is the new king, good luck with Gran Turismo 6 in 2020.
I'm a huge Forza fan and have logged hundreds of hours over all 3 previous titles. I played the Forza 4 demo last night and really enjoyed it. The Rivals mode is a nice addition that helps you improve lap times. The cars are great, especially the Zonda, wow that thing hoons.
However, I was finding the contrast between the darks a lights a bit drastic, much like Forza 3. While this might be fixed by adjusting some settings on my TV, all my other games render perfectly. I was really hoping that they tweaked this, oh well.
All in all a fantastic demo that leaves me wanting more, roll on next Tuesday!
This feature would not blanket ALL ads on your TV,. Brands/ad agencies would have to purchase this add-on before releasing their ad. The Microsoft partner would most probably not allow a Playstation ad to be tagged in this way. Not only that, but Sony would not want potential Playstaion buyers to utilize one of the key Xbox features as a way to sell something the Playstation does not offer (yet?).
To all you people asking 'What happens when a Playstation ad comes up", here is a short answer.

There are plenty of apps out there that have similar capabilities, just not as well integrated see, Shazam and In_to_now apps for your smartphones.
