I found this particular quote from the press release to be bullshit.

1up has been my favorite gaming site for years, and I'm sad to see this happen. I've watched the 1up show religiously every week since they started it years ago, as well as the 1upyours! podcasts. This is horrible news, and if I were these guys, I'd band together and start my own gaming news/info site with the help of some old employees that have moved on to do similar things, such as John Davison who started whatheyplay.com. They have a huge following, and word would travel quickly if these guys were able to put something together.

I hear this from just about everyone I know that plays Gears 2. Waiting more than 60 seconds to find a match and for a game to fill up is ridiculous.

I'm getting it because I am a huge Metallica fan, and I don't care to play anything else on Guitar Hero or Rock Band other than Metallica songs. Industry opinions aside, the tracklist in this game will be well worth the $60 or so dollars to me. If you still feel the need to cling to those rebellious "I hate Metallica because they sold out and sued napster" feelings then knock yourself out. I'll be enjoying this game. I agree with the whole download thing, but I havent bought a GH game since GH2, and I refuse to buy Rock Band because of the fact that I spent $200 on the first band kit only to be left a year later with nothing but a bunch of broken instruments.

Fuck the Beatles. At least Metallica didn't come to the table with an ego so big that they wouldn't even allow them to put Guitar Hero in front of their name. I can do without the game anyways, seeing as how 90% of the songs will be about as challenging as playing hot cross buns on a recorder. The beatles are a great band, but they are far from the gods of rock and roll that they think they are, and it's too bad that 12-19 year old hippy spoiled suburbanite kids worship them still to this day.

So because it controls like RE4, but has nothing else in common with RE4 in terms of story, characters, setting, etc. It's RE 4.5?

Agreed. This idea that every game that comes out must be new and innovative is a bit ridiculous. With this kind of logic, then I guess Grand Theft Auto IV is basically just Grand Theft Auto 3.4, and Call of Duty 4 was just Call of Duty 1.4.

It's okay for a sequel to be like it's prequel, and there's no need for developers to totally reinvent the wheel with every chapter of a game franchise. I totally agree. Resident Evil hasn't always been about reinventing itself. It's been about good, challenging and solid gameplay combined with good storylines and characters and horrible horrible voice acting.

The game is great, but I found it to be a bit of a snoozer after playing L4D so much.
