Next Tony Hawk won't be played 'with a controller in your hands'

Dec 4th 2008 6:31PM (Joystiq)
Wasn't buying it before, definitely not buying it now.

Do yourselves a favor Activision. Just make this version for the Wii. Soccer moms worldwide will eat it up as "exercise for their kids" as opposed to just buying them a real damn skateboard or taking the little bastards skiing. This way they don't have to worry about watching them and they can spend more time drinking appletinis and watching Dr. Phil and Oprah.

As for the 360/PS3 version, just copy the Skate control formula, update your graphics engine and you'll be good to go.

Skate It doesn't count. We are talking about the real Skate, not the half-assed one on the Wii and DS.

EA makes NASCAR-T cute for Wii in February

I feel sorry for those still clinging to the idea that the Wii is a great system for gamers.

Wha? Halo 3 takes top of Xbox Live

Left 4 Dead isn't high on the list because alot of people are still apprehensive about buying into a game where it's solely co-op based gameplay. The lack of a Deathmatch mode or a real story keeps alot of people from buying the game. I try to tell them that if they'd give it a shot, they'd love it, but not many people bite. I don't believe it has anything to do with "Left 4 Dead players being PC Gamers". I think it has more to do with the fact that people don't want to play a game like Left 4 Dead with strangers, therefore limiting the amount of XBL play the game sees.

I'm not complaining though. It's everyone elses loss. They just don't know what they are missing. As a testament to the drawing power of the game once you've played it, I was the only person on the staff at my work that got the game the day it came out. I talked one other guy into getting it a couple days later and from there it spread like wildfire. Now an entire staff of 8 people, 6 of which said they weren't going to get the game, now have it and we play it everyday.

Black Friday: Wii crowned, economy still down

Dec 2nd 2008 12:04PM (Joystiq)
The Wii has no intrinsic value. Aside from the 4 or 5 decent Nintendo titles the damn system is nothing but a platform for soccer-mom (aka casual gamer) marketed shovelware. Even Nintendo is slacking at this point. What do Wii owners have to look forward to between now and next Christmas? Wii Sports Resort? Punch-Out? and....

Oh Wait that's it. Of course you could always kill time waiting for the next 1st party title to come out by playing sweet 3rd party games like "Merv Griffin's Crosswords" and "Rig Racer 2". Maybe "Gallop Racer" or "Petz Dogz Fashionz" would be better.

(Those are all real 3rd party games for the Wii)

Face it. For every 1 good game that comes out for the Wii, there are 100 shovelware pieces of garbage that get pumped out for the system.

Wii's are not hard to find. People are just dumb and don't know where to look. They assume that because the Big Box stores are out of them, no one has them.

If these retards would take the time to go shopping more than one damn day out of the year, they'd find that they could have walked into a store and got a Wii AND Wii Fit a week earlier for the same damn price.

I don't get this whole "Wii systems in short supply" thing. Go to Gamestop people. They stocked up on them big time before Black Friday, and just about every store in the Columbus, OH area still has 10+ in stock.

Everyone assumes that just because Best Buy and Wal Mart sold out of the 50 or so they had, that everyone is out of them. Gamestop's got 40 some odd stores in the Columbus area, and there's maybe 4 or 5 Best Buys and Wal Marts. Do the math.

Wii Fit is another story though.

Behold Japan's Resident Evil 5 LE, with console-specific extras

Dec 2nd 2008 11:48AM (Joystiq)
I heard that the US version is supposed to come with Resident Evil: Degeneration on Blu-Ray with the PS3 version, and on DVD with the 360 version.

Rumors are Rumors though.
