Lot's of tussles in here about who's right or wrong. All I know is the Wii was severely lacking in a large quality library outside of the tried and true series that are almost binary in their fan situation: You either cannot get enough or you are burnt out. So burnt out that a new Zelda or Mario is like "Oh, another one of those, that's neat".
My DS library is almost completely third party. Picross and Picross 3D are my main Nintendo titles. I can think of only one Wii game I'd like to play, that being the RPG Xenoblade that it took fans of the "company that cares about video games" months upon months of campaigning to get a release.
Nintendo is just backwards and behind the times in all of their design. I do not speak of graphics or power, but services. There was not a good reason to fight so long to get access to storage on the Wii or DSi models. No good reason exists not to have full DS titles on the DSiware or e-Shop stores. A lot of great titles are selling for $50+ (cart only!) when they could be on the network for $10 and still making money for Nintendo and the Pubs/Devs.
Friend codes, shops, media support. A lot of it contrary to what I expect from a digital age of Steam, PSN, and XBL.
That's my complaint. I guess I am pampered with my PSP in having full fledged titles directly on my memory stick (legit, too!). No artificial scarcity.
That's my beef with, Nintendo. They pander to the hardcore fans, catered towards the every-man, and left everything lukewarm overall. I don't wish them ill, to go out of business, and all that nonsense. I would like there to be four strong platforms rather than the three now.
Actually, in my opinion, it's pretty bad. Almost all FPS were horrid on the PS2 save Timesplitters (which was still better on the Xbox). Last gen FPS were all pretty gnarly.

Jan 25th 2012 5:30PM (Joystiq)Sucks for them that their idea got copied, though. It should be a badge of honor in today's industry to be ripped off by either Gameloft or Zynga.
