@TheKbob Oh, and for reference I'm probably getting 30FPS~60FPS swing on average with my machine. It runs flawless for the most part. Near maximum settings (occlusion on medium) 2xAA, 8xAF

I think Lost Odyssey is a better introduction to JRPGs than a Tales of title. You have to really like anime tropes and said art styles for Tales, however Lost Odyssey is FFX for the modern consoles.
Once FFX remake hits, that's still a go to. That got me into JRPGs in the modern era.
Plus, Namco Bandai can go... well, in spirit of the holidays, I'll save my bile spewing ways.
I remember people beaming about this back in high school. I was so deep into Diablo II: LoD that I couldn't think about paying money each month to play a game.
I got into WoW and I loved the people interaction and taking rag tag teams into instances and being leader/healer and overcoming odds. Raiding crushed that feeling (being a raid leader SUCKED).
If there's an MMO that can capture that "run 5~10 dudes against the odds" style gameplay without resulting in grind and dying to bosses for 8 hours because of 2 dumb people out of 40, someone should let me know!
Really? I was much more expecting "Ass Clown" or "Butt Pirate" as the last class. Something completely off the wall, possibly involving fecal and/or gay related.
Halo was great,... I loved it on the PC and the original Xbox. Gears was great... until 2 jumped the shark and the multiplayer crapped the bed. DiRT is my racing series (PC versions are gorgeous), and Fable sucked after the first one.
Plus, I like investing $400 in hardware that doesn't break. After mine bit the dust, I went back to PC gaming.
Regardless of one's opinion on the quality of the matter (from idle dismissal to sheer anger and betrayal), anyone with a coherent thought among themselves could have called this outcome. While we all know the EULAs are not law and can be written poorly, this portion was pretty rock solid:
You own the hardware, Sony controls the vertical and the horizontal, however.
Too many people got upset over the matter. It's a closed system, just like Microsoft's Xbox 360, Apple's iPhone, and Amazon's Kindle. Each have had deliberately performed "bad shit," but people still snap them up. Some folks just seem a bit more cantankerous when it comes to Sony. In the end, if you don't like how a company may or may not support a product, stop buying closed systems. You pay a premium for PC hardware because it is not subsidized by the console tax and the closed ecosystem. So either enjoy the cheaper hardware and take the licks as they come or cash out.
Either way, I think a lot of people have to remember that both Sony and Microsoft have added a lot more functionality to their machines than taken away. Microsoft really doesn't take away features, but puts them behind pay walls ( yo dawg, I heard you like pay walls...), so they may be there, but those same features are free on multitudes of other platforms at no extra cost. Yet no one gets mad about that... no people happily pay $60/yr (or less, thanks ebay, amazon, etc.) for that!
Basically, the general gaming populous are a whiny, self-absorbed lot that will whine about the most inane things and completely gloss over getting raped in the wallet over other features. And too those folks believing a $60 cost for new games as an "HD Premium," I got some nice tasting snake oil for you... fresh!
One less reason for me to reinvest in a 360. Maybe if Kinect gets some more good games outside of Dance Central and Gunstringer...
Now to wait for the eventual Steam sale. If they mark it at $50 Day One, though, I'll be a bit miffed. Making us wait, lying, cancelling, and then bringing it back at full price would be pretty shoddy.
