I don't want to see "real legacy support" in windows at all. Its this legacy support and backwards compatibility that causes half of the problems with Windows. If the re-wrote it from the ground up, and forced other applications to use better programming (such as not requiring admin permissions for everything) windows would be a better OS.
If you want legacy, run Windows 95 on a spare 486.
