Wii Warm Up: Guitar Hero Redundant Edition

Dec 20th 2008 12:14PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I just don't see how this is any different than RB & the Beatles. So the Beatles game isn't branded as "Rock Band"... it still is though, same as GH: Metallica is.us

Free online PES magazine is a good way to kill some time

Played it. Loved it.

There is a strategic element to the gameplay that's completely missing from just about any other sports game I've ever played. The control system is at once more and less complex than any EA sports game I've ever played. Less complex because you don't need to remember what arcane combination of buttons you need to press to perform a particular move. More complex because what your left hand (Wiimote, in my case) and right hand (Nunchuk) are doing is often two completely different things. The nunchuk will control the player with the ball, generally speaking, and the wiimote controls everyone else on your team, sending them running about the pitch and identifying who to pass the ball to.

Do yourself a favor & pick it up. If you need more convincing, check out my review of the game.

Wii releases for the week of November 28th

Puzzle Quest is on my Wish List too, but I'm mostly interested in seeing how Cranium Kabooki is turning out. There's every chance it could blow big time, but I'm hopeful it turns into a good party game - plain ol' vanilla Cranium always seems to do it around my place, and I'd love another game to get the wife to game with me.

Anyone seen any reviews on this yet? Impressions of the final product?

Fanswag: Win a copy of Super Mario Galaxy

My fave is Level 1-1 from Super Mario Bros. 1. There's just something perfect and trancendent and iconic about it, that a whole generation of gamers can almost play that level with their eyes closed.

I think it's time to put down the Wimote and head out into the real world, my friend.

It's Andy Roddick, not Roderick.

Are Nintendo fanboys hurting the Wii's 3rd-party support? One fansite editor sounds off

Calm yourself, sheppy. I was being facetious. I didn't realize that the Joystiq boards are strictly for serious debate and fanboi flames.

Lord al-freakin-mighty.

Of course there's no arguement. Mature people understand that modding and pimping your car with every last piece of new and theoretical tech is pure fantasy, only to be pursued by the same rich kids that go on "My Sweet 16" and cry when Jay-Z can't come and rap for them personally. Mature people understand that Mario Kart + friends = a really good time. And when you're mature and have a job and a house and a life, having a good time is what's important.

Fable 2 dog is the 'totally unexpected' feature?

Maybe it'll be a Nethack-like pet - something you can train to a certain degree.

I won't be looking forward to it until I read some serious reviews from sites I trust, though. I was a little too let down by Fable.
