Neither format is going to be a dead format. Dual format HD DVD/Blu-Ray players are already on the market... if you buy one over the other it isn't going to be a bad investment.

Personally I buy HD DVDs because they work in my DVD player, but at the same I'm expanding my HD collection when I do eventually buy a dual-format HD DVD/Blu-Ray player.

Remember the fight between DVD-R and DVD+R? All modern DVD drives support both formats, I don't see why HD DVD/Blu-Ray will be any different.

You all realize that dual-format players are already on the market and in several months will most likely be dirt cheap. It's very likely that both formats will coexist. Remember the format war between DVD+R and DVD-R? All DVD drives utilize both now. Why can't HD movie players be any different?

Personally, I'm buying HD-DVDs cause they still work in my DVD player, and I'll buy a dual-format player when they get cheaper.

I think Japanese RPGs have to go. Way to many half-naked femminine boys running around with gelled hair crying about their inadequacies. I STILL love Oblivion, but this game looks like crap. The logo is screaming of another epic western MMO...hm...

Jazz Jackrabbit needs to hit Xbox Live Arcade... I'm serious.

#5, that's not quite how it works. Whether someone plays a computer game at 640x480 or 1920x1080 (which is what 1080p is), there is little difference. It's just more pixels representing the same thing. Not much of a development difference.

This is just Microsft proving the gaming world that the difference between 720p and 1080p isn't worth arguing. Now that they did it, they can say 720p games pretty much look just as good. (with obvious better performance)

I just want to thank Trey Parker and Matt Stone for doing that episode, as a WoW player I loved every bit of it, even if I also balance a life at the same time! Good satire. I was hopeing for more Dew and Red Bull cals to go with the rockstar cans, but you really captured the essence of hard core grinding!
