Final Fantasy III and black DS Lite editions head to Japan

Jul 13th 2006 12:35AM (Joystiq)
When you sell more than roughly 70 procent of your DsLite's in Japan, it's not more than logical that you start selling your bulk of black DS's there. They are fabricated there (or china i'm not sure) but why move them all around the world to a market that really isn't that big a deal compared to home ground. At the moment every black DS wasted on US soil is 1 less sold "at home". They just used they're extra production space to start making more Black DS's to sell to europe because they knew they were going to crank up that production anyway. And as I recall by an earlier posting of numbers, Europe is more important to them then the US is if it comes down to sales. I mean they even cost more here than they do in the states. So quit your whining, as if you all you guys are now forced to buy another DS because of it's exterior colour. Let me tell you, on the inside we are all the same.

And the award for 46th most important business personality goes to... Mike Morhaime!

Poll results: (Reevaluated) next-gen combo platters

Jun 5th 2006 9:59AM (Joystiq)
The thing with the PS3 starts to get really bad. I'm getting a bit pissed at Sony. I actually DO believe that the general public will be dumb enough to buy the console because of their current market domination but reports like these (see link) make my stomach ache.

A guide to Joystiq star-whoring

@#4

What a non helping remark..

When I would get an email containing why or why not I got a star, I would just lose my impartiality because even asking for just a mail implies it will alter your commenting.

Stars aren't science. Just a basic set of rules which apply withtin a variable range depending on someones mood, time of day, or general feeling. So leave it as it is please.

E3 Vox Populi: Who had the best press conference?

May 11th 2006 6:56PM (Joystiq)
I want mgs4 mario and fable 2.

The best point taken from this post is this: We are all so busy examening every fact, detail, tidbit, grain or even hint that you can easily forget what is happening out there. You know. The real world. Where millions upon millions will know the new Nintendo as Wii and will have never heard of a revolution. Whole countries will buy into the Dual Shake/Tilt story of Sony simply because they never heard of what Nintendo has to offer. And don't forget the people who will hail HALO 3 as the most original mind blowing game ever conceived simply because they have a 360 already and the rest doesn't matter to them. We are all a small albeit very noisy group who like to know stuff when it happens. And the 4 ppl chosen above aren't in that group. Because so is the rest of the world.

Hands on with Nintendo's Wii controller

May 11th 2006 4:21AM (Joystiq)
Im SOOO with #3. It even makes me more excited. I mean everytime we get hyped for new games. Than they come out and somehow you always have the same principles apply over and over. They only difference is how many attention there was to detail, which is why I love nintendo so much. Or the guys from Gran Turismo. Or Metal Gear Solid.

They understand that to create a game you have to be get immersed in a world. Your purpose in a game has to have context.

With the coming of Wii (insert pun here *sigh*) we are all back to being nicely unevolved. Which is a very important aspect of the whole experience as well.
Because we have to let go all past experiences and make fresh ones.

We are all noobs. Remember that and you'll be safe. I'll bet you are all just scared to get your nice furry behind creamed by someone who you've been kicking around all these years..
