Diablo 3 to launch in early 2012, beta period extended

Sep 23rd 2011 11:08AM (Joystiq)
Hmm, it appears that signing up for battle.net isn't enough to access the Diablo 3 beta. While I knew it would be granted to random users I was unaware that you have to own a game by Blizzard in order to opt in for the Diablo 3 beta. :-(

Considering the only games on their site I see are WoW and Starcraft both of which I have zero interest in I guess I just have to wait for the release.

Does anyone know if the games in the legacy section apply toward getting to opt in? I'll buy Diablo 2 in order to be able to opt in. I always wanted to play it anyway.

PS3's Ni no Kuni coming to North America early next year

Sweet! I'm not a big fan of JRPG's anymore as I don't really have the time to dedicate my gaming hours to them, but this game looks amazing!

I know most people say Square-Enix are the JRPG king, but I think Level 5 makes some better games. I loved Rogue Galaxy, I want a sequel with PS3 graphics please!

What is Citizen Skywatch?

Well, unless it somehow has to do with a sequel to Red Dead Redemption, I'm hardly interested. At least for the moment.

Oops, should have read...

Maybe it's just me and my longing to be able to have a far less hectic and slower paced lifestyle while I know I can't.

Stupid iPhone auto correct!

"and the story will feature dynamic missions, making factors such as time critical to your success."

I certainly hope factors such as time are not used excessively in Borderlands 2. I may be in the minority here, but putting time restrictions in a game for ANYTHING is by far my biggest pet peeve!

I absolutely hate time limits in anything. It's bad enough the real world has such an emphasis on time, I hate it when any of my recreational activities like games involves this.

Maybe it's just me and my longer to be able to have a far less hectic and slower placed lifestyle while I know I can't. But keep that out of my recreational time or at the very least, please keep it minimal!

Anyway, I'm super excited for this game! I just hope the weapon variety actually has better variety this time. I was surprised to see just how similar a lot of weapons were in the original. Only to be different by maybe a gun sight or clip size, and how often my friends and I came across this.

Rocksteady and Paul Dini on the storytelling in Batman: Arkham City

@Georgia Gator

Right there with you!

I may go as far as to say it's my most anticipated game of the year. That's even over my immense anticipation for Skyrim, Gears 3, Uncharted 3, and Even Battlefield 3!

Freddy Krueger haunting Mortal Kombat August 9

@RuleBook

The predator would have been a better addition than Freddy IMO. I can just see them using his self destruct as a fatality. On a side note, that very situation was a nice nod used in Mrs. 'Splosion Man. :-)

Man, what a let down for the last piece of DLC they've been talking about. It seems like such a waste, they could have added some other MK character, or at the very least created an all new character.

I'm sure some people will enjoy this, not me. Oh well, it's not like I'm forced to buy it or anything, I'm just disappointed is all. I would have preferred another game character crossover at least.

Batman: Arkham City collectors edition official in UK [update: headed to US too]

That was the one thing that kind of disappointed me in the original. I played the challenge maps in the armor bat suit, I would have loved to have some alternate outfits. I hope they work on some for the sequel, usuable in the story would be great!

Then again, they'll likely just charge for them, or more than likely over charge for them.

As for the collector's edition, at least the CE only grants early access to DLC instead of denying those who choose not to buy the CE out of the DLC. That just saved me a cool $40!
