Hey, sometimes April Fools jokes come true - look at WoW's latest expansion, for example. Maybe the devs will see the positive reaction to this joke and decide to actually add a planes vs dragons mode.
I think it'll be alright. Player skill is far more important than gear in Guild Wars 2, and skill can't be bought. I actually like how gems can be bought with gold, because it means that players who can't afford to use the cash shop will still be able to get some items from it.
I liked the Witcher 2 because of its awesome graphics, exciting combat and mature storyline...three qualities that probably wouldn't make it to the MMO. They could, of course - but they'd probably do what everyone else does, and make a graphically unimpressive, T-rated game in which the combat is determined by stats and gear more than player skill.
If you can fill in any of the missing traits and race-specific skills, that'd be great. I'd also like to know how useful the Elementalist's conjured weapons are, in comparison to the normal weapon skills, and whether the Thief's steal ability is worth using. And if you play WvWvW, I'd like to know how well it works and whether some professions are more effective than others. If you can post screenshots of some of the armor and weapons in the game, I'd like to see that as well.
Having read the Kickstarter page, i get the impression that this guy's an idiot. If he's going to ask people for a million dollars, he could at least get a high school graduate to read his proposal and fix all the grammatical errors.
I'd like to group more, but mainstream MMO make the group experience so painful that I usually just solo. In SWTOR, for example, I skipped most of the flashpoints and heroic quests. First I'd have to find a group with the right combination of the holy trinity, which was basically impossible after the first month or so because most of the players on my server were level 50. Then, I would have to wait for everyone to get to the flashpoint or heroic area. Then, there would always be a loot ninja in the group. Grouping just wasn't fun...and if it isn't fun, why should I be doing it?
I would play Diablo III if there was a no-RMT server, and I think a lot of other people would too. Implementing such a server would be such a good idea that I'm sure it won't happen.
