This will have no effect on NPD numbers. NPD gets their data from the manufacturers so it has always included sales contributed by Walmart. This "article" is referring to Walmart sharing their point-of-sales data with Nielsen, a shopper insights group, in a new effort to figure out why their year-over-year store visits have continued to decline.
