I love the iPhone and all of it's games, but I think it's a bit of a stretch to say it's on par with the Dreamcast. Maybe they meant to say Saturn; that I would believe. And if it is *is* that powerful, then they need to prove it for goodness sake. The monkey in Monkey Ball only being a sprite (not rendered like other games), the lackluster detail in most racing games, and the flood of basic, quickly-assembled titles is not helping their claim. That said though, if PopCap gets it's life together and releases things like Peggle and Bookworm Adventures on it quickly the iPhone could capture the casual games market. My wife has played the iPhone non-stop the past few days, despite us having so many other options available.
Just updated to 2.0 on iPhone with Windows. Everything was smooth, just Shift+click on Restore and select the file you downloaded. BUT. Go ahead and make a backup before you do it, because it doesn't give you any user friendly dialouges; it just starts updating. ALSO, try not to panic when your new phone first wakes up and the only option is to dial 911 or Activate. Just don't touch it and let it do it's thing; it's not finished and it will eventually come around and reactivate. Good luck!
You know those store-bought $400 desktops from department stores? Well imagine that. But also imagine that it was bought 5 years ago. And now imagine that people have been irresponsibly web-surfing and installing/deinstalling nonsense on it for years (due to it being a shared computer). Also, there's no graphics card. Software only graphics.
Man, Bioshock may just be the greatest game out on the 360, kind of like Joystiq may just be the best video game blog on the internet. It's slightly debatable, but not really.
Google Maps has to do it for me. To be able to quickly (or not so quickly on Edge) pull out my iPhone and whip up a map with restaurants and points of interest is huge. Also, the ability to quickly whip it out and check traffic conditions right before I drive to work is just made of win.
Sure I've been able to do these things before, but never like this. Never this easily or stylishly.
K, number one, just look at him. And B, we got all this evidence, of like, how this guy blames everything on video games. And... I heard he doesn't even play video games. [Crowd Boos] I know! And I'm all, "you've gotta be shittin me!" But check this out man, judge should be like, Not Guilty. Peace.
Yeah, well I already bought Mehrune's Razor. I appreciate that they are giving it away for free, but they need to understand that this is a slap in the face of customers who already bought their stuff. They need to offer Horse Armor or something to us, or even a 250 MS point discount on Knights of the Nine. Otherwise, next time I might just go, "Why should I buy that? They'll probably just give it away soon for a promotion anyway."
OMG, Are game makers cutting a large part of potential amputee gamers by making their games require the use of your hands? In the future maybe we should see more games that function entirely on speech input?
