Skyrim PC system requirements delivered via internet parchment

Oct 26th 2011 12:12AM (Joystiq)
So my 4890 will die another day? I was looking at upgrading it for this game and ME3 but... I may still for Batman AC. Anyone know if a hackintosh can run with 2 video cards? My 4890 works perfectly in OS X and I don't need anything better there. I would like to not have to worry about getting a hackintosh compatible card and picking up the best performance/price ratio.

Why Siri should (and probably will) come to iPad 2

Oct 8th 2011 9:32PM (TUAW.com)
You neglect the fact that an Network connection is probably needed for the magic of Siri to work. Well, you don't quite neglect it but you kind of didn't think about how an iPad is not necessarily connected to the Internet. A good percentage of iPads are not 3G versions and what kind of good UE would it be if half the time Siri doesn't work? An iPhone is much more likely to have a network connection.

How to transfer game saves between iOS devices, without iTunes, and without jailbreaking

Mar 22nd 2011 7:15AM (TUAW.com)
The real trick is doing this from a backup. I have restored my iPhone to a virgin state a couple of times, but when I do that, I lose my gamesaves. It's frustrating since the only way to keep my gamesaves through a "format" is to restore the old backup. Why have I formatted my iDevices? Once was to remove a jailbreak, a couple of times when I was running an iOS beta (registered developer) and once to sort out a strange iPod bug. I would also like to be able to restore a backup from a long ago sold iDevice for an Angry Birds save that I've never gotten to replicate. Any thoughts on that?

Google imposes $350 early termination fee for subsidized Nexus One in addition to carrier's own ETF

Jan 13th 2010 9:23AM (Engadget)
@TomTom That's a really insightful comment. Care to clue me in, then? Explain to me how Google is anything different than MS selling HP computers in their stores. To my mind, all they've done is put the OS on the device, with a few requirements imposed on the ODM, HTC. MS does the same thing with Windows Mobile devices.

Palm and Apple are first party phone manufacturers. Google is a 3rd party. Now, rather than just name call, how about you have a real discussion with relevant points? Or just don't reply to my post so I don't waste my time reading some useless ad hominem attack.

@AdmiralKlingon So, Microsoft has these things called "stores" and in these "stores" they sell computers. These computers are built by companies like HP and Dell. Are they a 3rd party seller of these computers? Yes, they are.

Google didn't design the Nexus One. HTC did. Google doesn't built the Nexus One, HTC does. Google doesn't provide service for the phone, T-Mobile (later Verizon) does. All Google does is provide the OS and sell the device. Exactly like MS does for computers by HP.

Yes, they are a 3rd party.

This is no different from buying a phone from any 3rd party. If you buy a phone from Best Buy, you'll have the same double fee. It's not an ETF. Read your contracts.

Why does BDB insist on using "galleries" for its stories? It's annoying at best and makes the articles unreadable on my iPhone. It'd like to read the posts, but I think I'm going to have to pass.

Mass Effect 2 PC system requirements revealed

Nov 25th 2009 12:41PM (Big Download)
After the horrible fiasco that was the DRM on Mass Effect, I'm very glad to see they've come to their senses this time. I will be buying this game, if only to support sane DRM practices.
