Battlefield 3 'probably' shipping with online pass

@pensuhl

your information is being saved to one legitimate account for you to play online with, lets assume you are paying 5 dollars for the servers themselves with hundreds of servers host 24 player matches and PC players hosting 64 player matches online and 3 dollars of that is attributed to server maintenance, the 2 dollars at the end of that i would allocate to the fact that your not freely capable of moving from account to account, meaning that if someone is hacking or cheating in your game and gets banned for it he "has" to pay 10 dollars out of his pocket and register a whole new account to do the same thing he's been doing, doesn't that sound a lil discouraging to someone who plays games just to **** with people?? i like the fact that you have accountability for your account, Call of Duty registers your name for whatever system you play on and thats it whoever decides to do something on one account can just hop on another name easily and do it again. So yes sure why not ill pay 2 extra dollars for that kinda security when someone gets reported on their account.

an additional statement would be that call of duty always stays overpriced because its the more popular game, but at the sametime anyone who has played the game knows about latency issues the server problems, disconnects, aim assist bots, hacking and things of that nature. Ok so they want u to pay for Call of Duty Elite as a way to get your DLC and you pay monthly, what that probably means is they will release a map a Month instead of a pack of 3 every few months so lets use 5 dollars a month as their pricing 5x12= 60 a year for you Xbox360 users that means to play online and play CoD you will pay 120 bux a year. This is a battle of lesser evils and i will take EA's Lesser evil on battlefield ( i don't agree with other ea titles having a pass, but then again i don't play sports titles or call about Dragon Age Online Etc) with having to pay 10 bux for an online pass that legitimates your account and allows your Account to hold signifigance and weight compareatively with any cheating or negative actions you take in the game.

This is an issue i have with consumers not realizing what you are paying for, this is an example and comparison between Black Ops and Bad Company 2.

Ok both games cost 60 dollars at release,

Black Ops DLC Costs 15dollars a pop so - First Strike, Annihilation,Escalation, and the additional zombie maps from world at war. ok so thats essentially making a 60 dollar game 120 dollars.

You then factor in that the game is not on dedicated servers meaning that you drop hosts, disconnect from matches frequently in the span of an hour of gameplay.

Battlefield DLC when bought new came with the game so for 60 dollars you got all the map types when the game "initially came out" the Onslaught and Vietnam modes were 15 when they came out so essentially 90 dollars for the game with everything included.

Battlefield is hosted on Dedicated servers so you don't have to worry about frequent host issues or disconnections. If you bought Battlefield Used at gamestop back when it had just came out they sold it for 54 dollars to customers and with an Online pass purchase of 10 dollars dun dun dunn your back to 64.04 which is how much a new game costs with tax in my state. The issue becomes even less of a problem now as if you were a new gamer getting into shooters Black ops is still 55 bux used at gamestop, 60 new the map packs are'nt on sale so your still paying 110 dollars for all the DLC + Game

and yet Battlefield bad company 2's Ultimate edition is 40 bux new, comes with All DLC modes and map packs and a pass. Now look at Battlefield 3 it comes in the Limited Edition for 60 bux with your online pass a DLC Map Pack which im sure will cost you 10-15 bux anyway and a weapons pack, Battlefield Beta's their game for people they do server testing so that their dedicated servers will be consistent and efficient. Ok so you don't pay 10 dollars for call of duty's online play... but it doesn't matter because u are'nt playing on stable servers in the first place , its whatever host you have that they think is best.... please tell me why no one can see this comparison. In the first place someone can sell their Game to gamestop when Battlefield 3 releases without the pass and make 30+ dollars for it and pick the game up a year later for half the price and still have their information saved to the server, its a small amount of storage yes to save a profile, but for actual gameplay stability online i'm willing to pay the same fee as u would get a new copy... it only makes sense.
