Also: sorry, but Xenoblade blows EVEN Lost Odyssey completely out of the water.

Screw Matsuno and get Takahashi on there. Xenoblade is one of the finest RPGs ever made, and you can't deny the impact Xenogears has made.

And as great as Uematsu is, he's not a developer, so making a Mt Rushmore of JRPG developers and including a musician, no matter how iconic, is kind of a slap in the face to other developers.

So:

Hori, Sakaguchi, Takahashi and, let's see... Kitase, maybe? Too much FF? I could live with Nomura being on there. Say what you will about his character design, but the games he makes are consistently awesome.
Actually, wait, someone from Atlus should probably be up there. Who the hell is behind the Persona games!?

@Cletus VanDamme Silent Hill 2 is a stand-alone affair, but SH3 ties VERY DIRECTLY into the first game, so if you plan on playing that as well, you should try and find the original game first (Not sure if it's on PSN).

@Faceless Troll Peggle is quite addictive and fun, but it's also already several years old, and this is just an HD port.

It's a disgrace that Mario didn't win this.

And I'd even add to that that the game really isn't that good in the first place. The writing and acting were great and everything, but I thought the gameplay itself became quite boring halfway through.

It's without a doubt the most overrated game of last year.

@htinezJ The previous writer's articles were worthless too though. They amounted to little more than "Here are some JRPGs I like/hate" with no insightful comments whatsoever.

It's a damn shame too, because the weekly WRPG feature on this site is really good. I just want to see my favorite genre get the same respectful treatment.
