Yea, like what Triforceowner said. The early produced consoles are known to have problems. I know a lot of people that got 360s and none of them have had problems yet. I have no reason to believe the 360 fails more than any other electronic device, and I think this is just a case of the internet magnifying the voice of a few.
I agree with Steve2, hardcore gamers are also the ones that pay for xbox live and buy stuff from it, and there are more than enough of them to support a console and make it profitable.
