Revenge of the Witches

Nov 4th 2010 2:47AM (Slashfood)
Nevermind that the beer has already long since sold out of it's seasonal run, and the fact that the craft beer community isn't about appealing to the lowest common denominator. Yes, when you're making bland flavorless crap, you need to make sure your label is just as inoffensive as your beer. Craft beer consumers tend to be a little bit less, uh, dopey? so it's a non issue.

This might be scaring off Bud Light buyers, but the type of person this beer is targeted at is the type of person intelligent enough to realize that it's stupid to be offended.

Hell, Arrogant Bastard Ale is one of the most successful craft beers out there. But let's wait for the Association of Fatherless Americans to come out and complain about that one *rolleyes*

Universal's 'Dilemma': How to Be Homophobic Without Offending Gay People

Oct 8th 2010 9:17PM (Moviefone Blog)
This is silly. When people say something like that, it's said as a synonym for lame and not meant to mean homosexual.

Just the way you said "lame" and didn't mean that it had a bad leg. Or is the word "lame" offensive to anyone who's disabled? It's stupid.

Jesse Eisenberg vs. Michael Cera: Avoiding Slacker Burnout

Sep 29th 2010 6:58PM (Moviefone Blog)
"For years now, the masses have been confusing Jesse Eisenberg and Michael Cera. "

I don't know anyone who has ever confused them and this is the first time I've ever seen anything of the sort on the half a dozen movie sites I read every day.

Most people I know of know Eisenberg as "the kid from Zombieland"

They don't really look all that similar either, I can't see anyone who isn't half blind confusing them.

Tim League Talks Drafthouse Films, Building Theaters in NY and LA

Sep 9th 2010 6:30PM (Cinematical)
A Drafthouse theater in LA is the best news I've heard all day. I look with envy at the theater experience down in TX and I can't WAIT to have a theater here aimed at mature moviegoers that isn't a dumpy little picturehouse.

Theories on Why 'Scott Pilgrim' Bombed

Aug 27th 2010 8:10PM (Cinematical)
Another board I went to that's pretty much target audience for this asked why people didn't see it. Like 80% of people said "I hate the movies, I'll watch it on DVD"

Let's not forget that there's a stereotype of fanboys being anti-social for a reason. A lot of them might have had interest in this...but it wasn't a huge event that got them to go wait in line in front of the theater, and for a lot of people, if it's not a huge event, they're not going to hassle with the theater.

Filmmakers Hate Cats and I'm Not Gonna Take It Any Meow!

Aug 2nd 2010 6:56PM (Cinematical)
Here's a thought, perhaps sitting quietly purring and licking yourself doesn't make for good film? Cats aren't particularly active or entertaining?

Also, if you're looking for something that's pro-cat, try EVERY WEBSITE ON THE INTERNET.

Reporter Trashes M. Night Shyamalan's Career to His Face

I hope I'm not the only one that appreciates an internet commenter bashing a reporter saying that they contribute nothing by bashing a director

Gotta love it

Reporter Trashes M. Night Shyamalan's Career to His Face

Jul 20th 2010 3:59PM (Cinematical)
M Night has writer/director credit on every movie he's made, and producer credit on everything after Sixth Sense. You can't get more creative control than that.

If the movies suck, he's 100% at fault.

Christopher Nolan: Director of the Last Decade?

Jul 16th 2010 4:15PM (Cinematical)
Indy 4 may have sucked, but Aviator was great and so was Death Proof. I've seen them both half a dozen times and enjoy them the entire way.
