I like WoT, although admittedly I have not been playing it lately and am looking forward to this one. WoT was surprisingly good, fun, and their payment model allows you to do quite a bit without depositing anything.
unfortunately you do not know what your talking about. We are not talking about just some random 14 yr old QQing, but actual long detailed posts from community members giving options and explaining some of the outcomes of these changes. I am not one who makes these posts on the forum as I no longer care, but to come on here and just say its 14 yr olds whining clearly shows you do not know what your talking about..
the devs there never listen when it comes to a vast majority outcrying an issue. Just look at LI's, radiance gear, and the whole fiasco that was the Isengard Expansion. The main complaints people had in beta were not heeded and wound up causing more damage than good.
GW2 has some nice advertised (or reported) features... I did not like GW1 and so far am not really feeling GW2. I think for me its the world and the characters that are not making me feel this game. I have no doubt that this game will be a monstrous hit, but I for one (probably like the only MMO gamer) am not anxiously awaiting this, nor will I bash it or compare it as so many others feel the need to do.
Seriously, if you like a game then spend more time playing it and making that community a better one than coming in here and tearing down something most of you have not even played longer than a weekend.
You sound like you just left a Turbine pep rally. I am glad to be away from Lotro and will gladly allow you stewards to play a game and continue to pay for something that is steadily being changed for the worse. Keep drinking the Kool-Aid that Sauron lifts his leg into.
The game might not be on its deathbed, but for many who bought lifetime accounts and who were there since the beginning its like watching an old friend die, not remembering who you are. And that "Biggest Update Yet" news they keep spewing will no doubt be riddled with issues and will not be as noteworthy as they would have you to believe. Definitely do not buy into the hype until the product is delivered. Isengard still has bugs, no way Rohan will arrive without some major issues. You can take that to the Shire!
They did NOT say dual-spec is coming in 1.2, but SOON.... This kind of misinterpretation is what starts rumors and makes people whine and complain when a feature does not show up. Go back and read it again...
I, myself am pumped about 1.2 for what it will have. If dual spec happens to make it, even better. I am not bored with the game. I did not rush to complete everything and have been taking my time and finding out which class suits me. My highest character is a 40 and I for one have had no regrets about buying the game or staying subbed.
@Airk New system, new grind, thats how Turbine rolls...
not looking forward to:
*New Grind with Mounted Combat *New 10 levels to Grind which means the following: -new LI's to grind -new gear to grind for -new skirmish points to grind for
The new area before the expansion seems cool. Also the Boromir death will also be cool, not sure that equals to me playing again, but we will see..
Also I have to say I'm concerned with a new expansion coming so fast. RoI was (and still is) full of bugs... How will all of this be ready for 2012 without being released full-of-fail?
"Sorry, we did not mean to p!ss off customers. We did mean to continue pushing the boundaries of what we could get away with vs what we originally stated."
Hate to see a once trustworthy company lose its reputation so fast, but it happens... It will take a while and some work from Turbine to get that back. Once its lost, its hard to get back. I still think their explanation is weak and they may not have offered end game advantage, but they still went back on their word about selling stat gear that would offer advantage. It might not offer end game advantage, but it still offers early levelers an advantage, but more importantly it offers a HUGE disadvantage to crafters.
A post that stated, "Hey we tried to up the ante on our greed and its been a nasty controversy that we honestly did not think would happen to this degree. We tried it, it back-fired we will be removing it. We will be more transparent in the future when possible."
Lowering the stats is not fair to anyone who bought the gear and that creates its own issues. I still wonder how much time will go into this issue and take away from Turbines proclamation that 2012 will be the most content they ever put out.. Or wait... Was that also misquoted?
Not to mention how easy it is to craft in Lotro.. You can easily create an alt just to craft the gear you need until you reach Angmar... The crafted gear was always an issue, but this should make people wake up to see a need and thus craft that need. My metalsmith was my top grosser because even after Moria I could sell lower level crafted armour and make 10G a week easily off minimal effort. (20G if I really did it nonstop). Now they are taking away from crafters who will probably not bother making gear. This is one of those hot-button issues that even if they take it out of the store, it still has already left its mark and proven how Turbine has fallen..
