Even more F.E.A.R. coming this fall

Jul 15th 2007 1:20AM (Joystiq)
What the hell are you talking about "most diluted brand"?

They are releasing a second expansion pack (which is not uncommon for a PC game) and then packaging the whole experience together for the console.

Yeah, it was supposed to be a joke, as seen with the whole Mega Man reference. But it was a terrible one.

Joyswag: A Castle Crashers tee for your thoughts

Sep 10th 2006 3:48PM (Joystiq)
This is my most anticipated upcoming XBLA game. I loved Alien Hominid for the GameCube, and I fully plan on buying AH for XBLA as well.

Castle Crashers looks to return to the great days of classic co-op. Only it takes that online.

As with Alien Hominid, the hand-drawn characters and backrounds are excellent. They are a welcome change from the over-done, fancy graphics that we see in most current games.

Scanned EB Games Wii release list

Aug 5th 2006 4:46PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Did it ever occur to anyone that this list may be Canadian? In fact, Im sure it is.

I work at EB games and I was looking at our Wii preorder list just the other day. All games are listed as being $49.99.

Live Arcade Wednesday: Cloning Clyde

I bought it right away when I woke up this morning. It is my favorite XBLA game by far. The graphical style is great, and the gameplay mechanics are awesome.

If you like the old Oddworld games for the PS1, then do yourself a favor and buy this game. It is heavily inspired by the side-scrolling Oddworld games, and is just as fun too.

Microsoft announces X06: September in Spain [update 1]

Jun 22nd 2006 3:52PM (Joystiq)
"In 2001, Microsoft used the event to announce its acquisition of Rare."

Actually, Microsoft used X01 to announce launch details of the original Xbox.

The aquisition of Rare was announced at X02.

$500,000 offered to finish Duke Nukem Forever this year [update 3]

Jun 10th 2006 4:18PM (Joystiq)
"Take-Two is currently only being offered $4,250 from Take-Two for the title's eventual release."

That would be 3D Realms, and it is $4.25 million instead of 4.250.

Signed up. I would never pay money for EGM, but getting the mag for free? Why not.

Metareview - Rockstar Games Presents Table Tennis (Xbox 360)

May 23rd 2006 10:28PM (Joystiq)
I just got done with a 4 hour play session with this game. All I can say is wow. It is worth the semi-budget price most definitely. There is a steep learning curve to be good, but even if you arent good, its still fun.

The depth is great, as there are so many moves and tricks you need to learn. But the play style between each character is totally unique.

Online is great, and the spectator mode is a very nice addition. The tournaments are long and very intense.

Overall, I must recommend this to any 360 owner. The price, gameplay, depth, and sheer fun factor more than outweigh some of the few few flaws and shallowness it may show on the surface.

Phantasy Star Universe hits Xbox 360 in '06

Apr 19th 2006 6:08PM (Joystiq)
This makes me so excited. I love PSO for Xbox, and have recently started playing PSO: Blue Burst for PC. I havent decided what version I am getting yet though. Its between 360 and PS2.

Best of the best now cheaper than the rest

Feb 27th 2006 11:44PM (Joystiq)
I like the idea. But they just make the packaging uglier by adding the red. Why cant Microsoft just change the insert like Sony and Nintendo instead of making it an ugly silver case?

Still, Ill be picking up GR: Island Thunder and Counter-Strike now that they are so cheap.
