@BrianZeluz I used to be an AC fan, and I would have agreed with you ... until I realized I generally play about three levels of each one, then it gathers dust on my shelf b/c I'm sick of turning, and turning, and turning, and turning, and turning ...
Anything that makes the game more fun is a welcome addition.
Bizarre how this series so perfectly divides people. Just like with The Witcher, I don't mind having to go online and look things up or stumble through a bit, I find it more enjoyable than "X is hug wall, Y is jump" sameness. Also makes me feel a bit like the character.

Well, sure, ideally. But they're also quite frequently pretentious people who have their smallest supposed accomplishments, no matter how trite or trivial, exaggerated by willing accomplices in game media who overestimate their importance (perhaps because they imagine if they point out 'art' games and aspirations it makes them look deeper)?
So far, Ms. Conditt, you're not standing out from the pack of Joystiq writers in a good way.
Really. I thought to play Uncharted you needed endless patience for having your hand held through incredibly simple puzzles interspersed with balls-numbing repetitive chest-high-wall shooting gameplay.
@lazerbyte Typical ill-informed comment. The company doesn't "make out like a bandit", they first (if lucky) recoup the money they fronted the studio to make the game in the first place. Then, in the rare case where they make a profit, they reinvest most of it in another project.
Game budgets are way too high to suffer many failures. That's reality.
Jeez. Really sucks, but you kind of have to wonder who thought it was a good idea to put out a rather anonymous and uninspiring shooter in a crowded shooter market.
