.... Okay so they only had the time and money to make1/4th of what they planned into the game. As a gamer that is sad for us but you know that's the reality of business sometimes, so I'm okay with it.
However the thing that REALLY annoys me is that from what they are saying it sounds as though they just took what they had and tried to cut, edit , rewrite and force it down to 1/4th of the amount. That isn't the way to write well. That is the way to create a ''hodgepodge of indecipherable, confusing storyboard panels punctuated by random cinematics.'' The game should have been properly managed from the start and the writers known what to aim for.
Planning and writing 3 hours of content is generally MUCH better than writing 12 hours and then trying to make it work in 3 hours.
@Baxterfox Just no. If the indoctrination theory is true then guess what? There is no real ending to ME3. It would end a trilogy on a cliff hangar. The game would be completely unfinished. It would be like Return of the Jedi ending before Luke and Darth Vader fought.
Joystiq needs to add April Fools to the titles of stories like this. Not because us readers can't tell. Seriously it's pretty obvious it's a joke. However reading what Jordan wrote I honestly can't tell if he realises this is a joke or not.
Have to agree with others. For something that looks so nice and seems to have a lot of care taken on it what is up with that sound quality?! It sounds utterly dreadful and almost unrecognisable. It isn't as though the thing is so small you couldn't fit a reasonable speaker somewhere on it.
@Blizzard Haha yea in my city there are 2 GAMEs and 2 Gamestations in what must be about 3 minutes walk of each other. It should be noted that in the same area there are another 4 separate specialist game retailers and about 3-4 shops that also sell games. And actually in the city as a whole there are 10 GAMEs and 10 Gamestations.
Yet at no point did the management of game think to just close down 1 Game and 1 Gamestation in the city centre.
@LordPoncho Joystiq have forgotten to mention that this DLC will be free. The scythe and talons will be free and coming out soon. We don't yet know about other weapons.
@(Unverified) The problem is though a lot of those stories aren't finished. A lot of them basically end with ''Well we will see how things go after the war'' Then you never know! I can't say some things as spoilers but we actually only know what happens to a handful of characters. Every single other species, planet etc we have no idea about.
To DarkWayne. That's fine if they don't want to put a character model in. However would it have been so much of a problem to, I dunno, have a concept artist come up with an idea for what Quarians look like and just include that in the game? Doesn't have to be a 3d model, could just be a drawing. Literally anything would be better than the badly shopped image we got. The one that is clearly just a human with two fingers taken off to make it look quarian.... nevermind that this means quarians apparently have arms the size of chopsticks.
''So we designed Mass Effect 3 to be a series of endings to key plots and storylines, each culminating in scenes that show you the consequences of your actions.'' I'm sorry but that is a flat out lie. Series of endings? By which you mean one ending with 3 variations the consequences of which you are never shown and all 3 of which don't match the tone of the series or for many people how they played their Shep.
I adore the ME series but that ending was a total cop out. No consequences shown, how you had prepared, acted before it etc seemed to make barely any difference at all.
I'm also pretty annoyed at what we got for Tali. Okay they couldn't be bothered to make an in-game model, a bit lazy but whatever. Wait they couldn't even be bothered to have someone design a race and draw it? They took a stock photo and spent roughly 5-10 minutes photoshopping it (it is that bad) then said ''There that's a Quarian!''
WOOHOO! So happy that 'Bout the City and Super Brothers made it in.
For anyone interested I compared the list here and the one and wiki and removed all the songs that are in the remake. So here is a list of all the music that didn't make it:
''Deavid Soul - Miller Ball Breakers Deavid Soul - On the Bowl (A.Fargus Remix) Deavid Soul - Up-Set Attack Deavid Soul - Yappie Feet Idol Taxi - OK House Jurassic 5 - Improvise (North American and PAL versions only) Mixmaster Mike - Patrol Knob (North American and PAL versions only) Professional Murder Music - Slow (North American version only) Rob Zombie - Dragula (North American version only) Feature Cast - Recipe For The Perfect Afro (PAL version only) O.B. One - Many Styles (PAL version only) Semi Detached - Funky Plucker (PAL version only) Deavid Soul - Dunny Boy Williamson Show (Japanese version only) Cold - Just Got Wicked (North American version only)''
As you can see a lot of the cuts are music from the NA or PAL versions. With only Idol Taxi and Deavid Soul being lost from all versions. Pretty sad to see so many lost songs from one artist but I guess there was some problem there.
