Best of the Rest: Richard's picks of 2011

@eNriqeu

I played Where's my Heart for all of 15 minutes and deleted it because it was irritating. Glad it was free, (Playstation +)

Just my personal experience, your may vary.

However, Rayman Origins is amazing. Buy a copy now before you're scrambling to get one on eBay a year from now.

@Lucky48

yes, it takes a lot of guts to post about video games with a made-up username on an internet message board.

Joystiq Top 10 of 2011: Skyrim

I have no problem with this list, (Skyward Sword is fun, but it definitely has some major issues, so I can understand it not being here) but I'm amazed at how little love Rayman Origins is getting. It's amazingly, painstaking crafted and a damn near perfect platformer. Better than LBP2 or New SMB Wii, in my opinion, and nobody's talking about it or playing it. :\

WRUP: 2011's galaxy of games

Toys R Us near me was selling open-box 3DS's for 80 bucks... less than half price. I wasn't gonna get one, but damn, that's cheap, and they were brand new... the box was just open. Awesome deal, picked op OoT and SMB 3D Land as well... for a total xost of $160... so that's what I'm playing.

Humble Indie Bundle 4 abused by Scrooge-like Steam scamming

It's not like, EVIL, to just pay a penny... it's just the douchiest possible option.

I'd also like to point out that I was complaining about the price of the KOFXIII DLC on another story today, which is five bucks for a single downloadable character in one fighting game. This is five bucks for multiple full games consisting of hours and hours of gameplay, and their soundtracks, and it's supporting both independent developers and charity. If you can't squeeze together 5 or 10 bucks for these people, turn in your gamer card.

The average is currently just over 5 bucks... you should give more, but even if that's all you can afford, this is the gaming deal of the year.

KOF XIII 'NESTS Kyo' DLC delayed on PS3, netcode patch on the way

Dec 20th 2011 10:52AM (Joystiq)
KOFXIII is a pretty great fighting game. I like it. But there is no way in hell I'm paying $5 (or even the on-sale $3) for one character. Especially when it's just a tweaked version of an existing character.

Agreed, that game wasn't great but it wasn't nearly as bad as everyone says. I beat it, and don't regret the time spent.
