Nov 4th 2011 11:38PM (Joystiq)See, here's the thing, last gen, the JRPGs ruled. This gen, they haven't really broken out compared to their Western counterparts with a scant few exceptions. Is it because of genre saturation that we suffered in the previous gen? Or is it because we are tired of the Save the World Trope from ye olde JRPG i.e. the Japanese developers have done nothing to push the envelope?
I think that's the more important question.
