"Are you confusing the comments with the article? Because I see absolutly nothing anti-PS3 in [the article]."
Me neither. That's the point. I'm saying it's ridiculous to call Joystiq biased. It was a joke. I was portraying the anti-Sony crowd as ridiculous by imitating them on one of the pro-Sony articles that they always seem to neglect. I thought it was amusing, but I guess I can't blame you for not getting it, because neither did the mod who took my star.
Although, even if I weren't joking, it isn't very nice to suggest I fellated someone for my star (well, the star I used to have before a humorless mod came along...).
A sincere question for you: next time I try something like that, should I add a cheesy "hehe" at the end or something, to make it clear?

MY LAST COMMENT WAS A JOKE. There has been a lot of bad press about Sony lately, and a lot of accusations that Joystiq is biased. This was basically pro-Sony, so I decided to try to call bullshit on those who accuse Joystiq of bias by using satire.
Looks like it backfired. None of #14, #23, #26, or the Joystiq moderator got the joke. I lost my star for defending Joystiq. How ironic.
So, Mod(s), it would be nice to have my star back. It doesn't look too good for punishing someone for standing up for you guys, not to mention the sour taste left in my mouth.
God, Joystiq. You once again prove your bias against Sony. I'm sick of hearing your fanboy spinning. Forget Joystiq, I'm leaving and going to a non-biased REAL news source.
I'm not sure big hands have to do with anything. I have bigger hands than anyone I know. I've played both DS's, and I'm a heavy Mario Kart snaker ... but I haven't experienced any pain at all.
The guy's comment leads me to believe it has to do with his grip. "Especially the right one"? Both DS's are functionally symmetrical; the only reason for any unbalanced discomfort is a querky grip.
One of the ads shows a white person in what can be interpreted as a domineering position. And so what? If the ads featured only the black person in the domineering position, no one would look twice. One ad might be interpreted as racist against blacks, portraying the white person in a superior position to the black one. But what about the ad that shows the black person in a domineering position over the white one? Isn't that racist in favor of blacks? But that would, of course, negate any reason to accuse Sony of racism against blacks. It's politically inconvenient for those screaming bloody murder--er, I mean, racism--so they ignore it.
This is not racist. Oooooh, "White is coming." I'm wetting my pants already. Yet if Sony were releasing the black model second, and the theme were "Black is coming," no one would care. This is flagrant reverse racism, no less despicable than the other kind.
Civil Rights leaders fought for racial equality. Screaming at the smallest perceived bias in one direction, but ignoring any in the opposite direction, is not racial equality. If Sony had exclusively shown white over black (or black over white), THEN there would be reason for Sony to get flak. There is no such reason here.
For the first time in a while, I'm on Sony's side, and anyone in favor of racial equality should be, too.
I'm getting my MacBook Pro next week. I picked pro versus not for two reasons: the graphics card and the keyboard. The integrated graphics is a no-no for obvious reasons, and the keyboard on the not-Pro just SUCKED ... in my humble opinion, of course. The Pro's keyboard was very soft, very nice to type on.
I hope Apple manages to wrest more than 5% marketshare from Microsoft. The biggest reason games run better on XP is because programmers are forced to work with it so often. Windows commands over 90% marketshare, so DirectX has become a second mother language for game programmers. This is a HUGE advantage for Windows. No doubt OS X would prove a better competitor if programmers were as familiar with OpenGL as they were with DirectX.
So for now, we gamers are stuck with tolerating Windows. I really hope that changes.
What I find interesting is the gigantic swing in Wii's favor. Remember before E3 when everyone was declaring the end of Nintendo? The Wii got 10-15% on polls like this one. Now it gets more than 50%.
Of course, that says something about the poll sample: it's heavily hardcore-oriented. That is, a vast, vast majority of the voters watched E3 closely. The market into which Nintendo is expanding consists of people who don't watch E3, and don't doggedly keep up with the latest rumors. In short, their audience was not represented here.
Therefore, as someone previously mentioned, Wii should do even better than indicated in the poll. How much better can't be determined, but at least the new polls indicate the success of Nintendo's E3.
Myria, you seem to not understand the difference between innovation and invention. Invention is creating new things. Innovation is incorporating existing ideas and technology in a new way. You compared the DS to your PPC. Sure, the PPC had touch capabilites and color; did it have a microphone? Did it have rumble features? Did it have two screens? No? Shame.
To be a stubborn apologist for Sony, I think, requires more of a fanboy mentality (and more crack?) than praising Nintendo's hardware. Virtually everyone who has had access to the Wii in the video game media praised the Wii; are you suggesting they're all on crack? I could make a Jack Thompson reference here, but I think that's self-evident.
You go buy that $600 dream machine. I'll go buy a Wii and a 360 for the same price.
