Microsoft sues Immersion over alleged breach of contract
Jun 19th 2007 7:32AM (Joystiq)Way to go Sony.
Sony not talking about rumble
Jun 18th 2007 2:55PM (Joystiq)And yet battery capacity can be increased, but since we all know how Sony handles his batteries i don't know if we want that.
But who gives a damn, the PS3 is losing and it won't sell the promised 10 million units untill the end of the year (nor march).
I think Sony should be trying for a break even over the lifespan of the PS3. I think that will be difficult enough. But hey with a lifespan of over 10 years how hard can that be?
Time Crisis 4 exclusive to PS3 - Will use Guncon 3
Jun 14th 2007 3:53PM (Joystiq Playstation)Introducing PlayStation.Blog, Sony's official blog
Jun 11th 2007 2:27PM (Joystiq)Yet i wonder if people will be able to post comments, i can imagine Sony don't wont their actual PS3 sales on their official blog.
But i'll have a look at it next jan. when they announce how they virtually sold those 11 million consoles. (only 7 million to go)
Japanese hardware sales, May 28 - Jun. 3: Custom excuse edition
Jun 9th 2007 5:40PM (Joystiq)So they are not very usefull for XBox 360 sales that only take up 4% of global sales. But if a Sony or Nintendo product sells bad in Japan it won't be an exception.
Proof is the PS3 that sells bad everywhere: 6 million units produced by the end of march and still only 3.37 million sold. Sony PR statement could be: we have the largest amount of unsold consoles in stock and they are good for over 1.6 billion dollars. But we will still ship like 10 million units this year. Also we plan shipping 4 million robots programmed to buy those unsold PS3's.
Microsoft knows console 'sweet spot' is $199
Jun 9th 2007 2:24PM (Joystiq)I wonder however if they will go as low as 199$. I think 250$ for the Core system look imaginable. However i think it will do more damage to the already heavenly damaged PS3 sales then it will do to the Wii sales.
But i think they will lower the price just a bit and throw in a free game. M-maybe mgs ;).
Killzone devs say they'll shut up the critics
Jun 9th 2007 9:23AM (Joystiq Playstation)As we all know the amount of PS3's out there is quite small. So if the developers want money out of their franchise they will have to consider that Gears or Wars already sold over 4 million copies. So whatever happens it will be as good as impossible to match that.
So it will probably end up on the XBox 360 anyway, and if not this one, the next one.
I guess that if Sony can double it sales by the end of the year, or like they say: 10.000.000 witch would only require to sell better then the DS, i don't see this game coming out this year but by the end of 08 of the PS3 and XBox.
So don't whine yet about the graphics, it will be out on both the XBox and PS3 and they will look alike.(like always, but this time not like the CGI version)
PS3 sells million in PAL region
Jun 8th 2007 4:22PM (Joystiq)I mean ... the PSP got over 20 million units sold and we don't hear anything of it. But the PS3 sells one million and it's big news.
Look sites like PS3fanboy don't post the weelky sales any more. They know why...
I the meanwhile we get the weelky blue-ray releases and the non-existent game releases (per region!).
Sony president says PS3 price drop is 'possibility'
Jun 6th 2007 12:51PM (Joystiq)Sony has to increase the PS3 value, why not give a small game with every PS3 that is not good nor great but just shows the immense potential that the PS3 has. Maybe a small collection of demo's or small things like a escape room game that already pushes the hardware to its limits.
I don't want to see Sony spending money by making something overvalued cheaper, but spending money by making something undervalued cheaper.
For example the pirates game: it just has such a framedrop problem, so does Oblivion occasionaly. Why can't Sony help out developers by getting the maximum out of their box. Look at Miyamoto, he doesn't create games any more, he just travells around the world helping out firms to make great games. He even made a crossbike game on the N64 popular, metroid had become an AAA title, the legendary Donkey Kong on the SNES. All games that Nintendo has not made, but contributed too and took the money as a long term investement.
Even microsoft did it with halo, what did Sony ever do for its Spyro, Final Fantasy, MGS, ...
Sony president says PS3 price drop is 'possibility'
Jun 6th 2007 11:49AM (Joystiq)When commented that that would require 250.000+ consoles per week instead of 200.000 consoles per month he gave away a free dinner to everyone present.
When indicated that the blue-ray departed sold more then the HD-DVD countrepart because it was cheaper and they should try the same thing he vanished into thin air.
