Australia has a population of around 22.7 million people. The United States of America has around 312 million people. As of November 17, Nintendo had sold 1.65 million 3DS units in the USA. Now, I couldn't find current numbers, but if the ratio is the same between the USA and Australia, Nintendo would have sold 2.74 million units in the USA by now. So, yes, it's actually quite good.

They're definitely looking to the future. Sure, it may be 20 or more years before Miyamoto decides to retire from the whole business, but he (and the rest of the smart gentlemen and women at Nintendo) realises that the future is uncertain. You never know what might happen, so they're planning on the future now, making sure that there's more than just Miyamoto around who people can look to and say "THAT man/woman is Nintendo!"

That way, when the eventual day comes that Miyamoto finally decides it's time to hang up the cap and overalls, that it won't bring Nintendo crashing down. Good hands, and all that.

I will finally have enough Queen songs in Rock Band when they release every Queen song onto Rock Band. This is very welcome news.

I'm sorry I have to explain this, but it was a joke. Of course I have listened to crappy music. I have even listened to Nickelback and know how bad they are. The joke was that I said I wouldn't judge something without listening to it, and then turned around and judged something I said I have never listened to it (because I "wouldn't listen to bad music").

On Facebook the Rockband guys announced that they were having a contest you could enter to win free Nickleback songs (and other stuff). People were responding asking if there was a way they could make sure they didn't accidentally win, even though they never entered the contest.

As for me, I have decided to reserve judgement on various musicians, like Nickleback, until I've actually listened to the music itself. The thing is, I just don't listen to crappy music.

Very true. I know a lot of people would be pissed if they did that ("We wanted it last year on the Wii!") but if they had planned on doing it that way, I think I would probably be a bit more upset about having to re-buy the same game only a year later to play the better version.

No idea. I know you can't use the 25 year pass to qualify, but that's all I know about it.
