did anybody get sexually harassed at this event or has Capcom finally figured out that it isnt acceptable to let that kind of behaviour go on unchecked?
@Kaemon it doesn't matter who wrote the essay, but which essays were chosen and considered representative. the only things "that aren't there" are non-white, non-male people shown playing video games.
@ToastyBiggins the text mentions in passing that the girl plays games. in the image she is shown standing passively (eyes closed ffs) behind her mother, partially cut out of the frame. compare this to her brother who is in the centre of the composition in an active posture, eyes open. or y'know with the three other men who are depicted in both text AND pictures as actually playing games.
sorry if wanting to see more than just white male faces (ie any diversity at all) in depictions of gaming is just too "exacting", guess i'm some kind of diversity fascist.
@TheUnchosenOne you mean the girl who isn't actually interacting with the game at all, is stood behind her mother and is literally being squeezed out of the frame? that one? the one in same image as the boy enthusiastically looking at the mother holding the game, the boy who is in the direct centre of the image's composition?
haha its really cool how the only people shown playing video games are guys and the only woman interacting with a video game is FULFILLING HER ROLE AS A MOTHER by buying it for her children.
@ytilanigiroon It warms my heart that everytime an article pops up about this game, there is always a contingent of people who head to the comments to urge people to avoid the game on the grounds that Chopra is a proponent of alternative medicine and a religious hypocrite.
It's always a little disappointing to see that there is not a commensurate movement to implore people not to buy Call of Duty or Battlefield due to their central role in legitimising, supporting and glamorising the US military, whose deployment is consistent in causing massive human suffering beyond the capacity of someone like Chopra, and whose justification is as barefaced and brazen as his hypocrisy.
