I would like to know if any one with a PS3 after you bought it on launch week or the week after and you did your first firmware update annd your screen changed color just like on the PSP the PS3 I was told buy a Sony tech that it's changes by the month and certain hours four pazazzaz. I got my PS3 a week after launch and I did my first firmware update and it changed to a red background and darrk red XMB bar, at that time I did not know if it was the firmware that did it so I called Sony tech support the next day to ask them about the color change and Iturned on my PS3 before I called and it has turned back to the regular color XMB bar. I have talk to 2 level 1 tier techs and a supervisor and only the one tech said that when she was taught the PS3 system that it does change color each month and at different hours but could not tell me what time, even the supervisor didn't know the system did that. The one tech that told me it did said is it that important to you that it changed color in a Smart ass way and I said if it's suppose to do it like you told me it should then yes I expect that the for the $600.00 that Ipaid for it shold do everything that is built into it. So I asked to talk to alevel 2 tie tech and she said she would get some one to call me back in 3 to 5 days and I said are you kidding me why can't I talk to one now, and she said I have to go so you'll have to wait for a call back in 3 to 5 days. So I don't know if I have a bad unit so that's why I am asking if any one PS3 change color to the red back ground with a dark red XMB bar and when does it happen? Thanks to any one who can help me answer this PS3 color change.

First I woul like to say you are now the first site I go too when I turn My computer on. You have replaced all the commercial sites that I use to go to first, don't get me wrong I still will visit the other sites after your site. Sory for getting of the subject about the puking Wii. I on a PS2,Xbox 360,Wii and a PS3.I just got my Wii on the release date and my PS3 on 11/24 Thanks to a very devoted customer oriented Manager of one of th EB store. I had pre-ordered mine way before the Toys R'Us people got to pre-ordered there PS3.I found out from your site EB/GAMESTOP were going to be short, so I called the EB I ordered my PS3 and Wii from and told them they would not have enough PS3 for all the preorder, the manager was going too notify me but thanks too your site I already new and told him it was alright.The manager who I have only none for one month said he would do everything to get me one as soon as posible as EB/GAMESTOP in Texas told him Sony would ship some each week, so I really wanted it on release day , but the more I read about bad things happening with the PS3 I was happy not to get the first ones. I just wan't to say not all workers of EB/GAMESTOP are bad and the manager of my store didn't have to go out of his way toget me one a week later, so now not only do I have a good manager at my EB but now he is also a good friend. I don't want you all to think he only did it for me but all the people who pre-ordered PS3 and didn't get it on the first shipment got the same treatment too. Since I got the Wii and PS3 , I have used the Wii twice and th PS3 once to set it up (definitly get a USB keyboard or you'll be having thumb cranps)any way to go on both unit work fine the Wii set up was straight foward but the PS3 took a lot of time. I have two question about the Wii and PS3 if any one can answer this I would appriciate it. Question one on the Wii does the blue light on the slot loading come on wj\hen you insert a disc because I only see it blink when I turn on the unit but I notice in the puking Wii video it blink once when the disc was inserted again? Second question is for any one who has set up there PS3 , got through everything find till I was asked to register on the network, as I am already registered on the Playstation.com I picked the choice of already registered and I put that info in and then it asked me again to enter user name and password, so I did and it didn't take it so do I have to make a new account on the PS3 because it's a different sign up? Thanks for any help and one last thing I got Resisstance of Man and when I put the disc in it asked me to wait for it to load on to the hard drive, it seemed for ever. Does every game for the PS3 have tto load on the hard drive before it plays? I find this a lot longer to wait then all the other units I have. I really think now that I have my PS3 and all the things Sony did wrong with the PS3 was them thinking they were the Big dog in the industry and they could release any thing with the Playstation logo and people will buy due to there pass sucess. I know that if I had 62% of the market I would of come up with a better design of the PS3, yes they gave you a lot of technology for the price but like you said on your sight why bother with slot loading or tray loading just use a simple lid that pops up with no machanic or slot or tray engines to go wrong. I know some of you like the ease of motorized slot and tray units, but just think if you had a PS2 Slim simple design we wouldn't be having disc loading proplems like all the NextGen units are having. I wan't to tahnk everyone for reading my thoughts and question. Sorry for being such a long post. Once again I wan't to thank you who ever runs Joystiq site, keep up the great work.

I think Sony is throwing iit all away with the delays , not telling us exactly how many units would be at launch, passing the blame on all sort of excuses and giving us a so,so unit in the PS3 even though they had an extra years than the competition. People in Europe may get a better unit than the US or Japan, and if they do I hope Sony does right by all the true gamers and not you lots that sold the PS3 for profit, by giving us an apology or replace are units with the better Europe ones if there's turn out to be better as we true Playstation people have brought your product in the past and waited patienly for the PS3.
