This is great. I really do hope games like this send a message to the industry. "We want unique, beautiful games!"

Although I certainly DON'T hope that publishers start to cheap out and give us really short games on purpose, knowing that if it's awesome enough it doesn't matter how short it is. Seems like something I could see them start to do.

Man, I am just a downer...

It's not the model I have a problem with; it's the way developers use it. Purchasing new areas and whatnot is cool, but the real problem is that it always becomes: "Pay more money = win more." Anything that completely isolates the player base is bad.

While Apple has taken some small measures to "improve working conditions" at the factories that make their stuff, at the end of the day they're still getting it all from factories that pay their employees a buck fifty an hour to work twelve-hour days and do the same tasks until they've lost the ability to use their hands. All this just so they can get it for cheap, and then they STILL turn around and sell it marked up by about a bazillion percent because they know people are stupid enough to buy it all for whatever price. And on top of all that, they're vicious cutthroats who try to patent everything, including the most simple of crap, including stuff that they outright and blatantly STOLE, and try to sue into oblivion anyone who stands in our way just to make a petty buck.

In a nutshell. Bring on the haters.

I mostly ditched IGN because of the comments section. It's not really IGN's fault, but that is the biggest collection of horrible 12-year-old fanboys in existence. It's like the biggest troll cave I know.

Also, recently they've begun the habit of making incomplete/filler articles just so they can get more ad revenue for clicks. Sometimes it seems like every other article is "Review in progress" or "The review is coming" or "Here's one writer's simple opinion" or "A paragraph that doesn't really say much at all."

That's how I feel, at least.
