Square Enix opens Android store in Japan, fills it with classics

Nov 25th 2011 5:13AM (Joystiq)
@Afrit Experia Play is like having our gamer prayers answered... Phone and real gaming device in one. More models like this should be produced, and more games compatible with such devices should be released. Wouldn't it be the answer to boost more sales in the industry???

Square Enix opens Android store in Japan, fills it with classics

Yey! This is great news. Hope this happens in the US too.
I have Xperia Play so I can use the buttons on them for once!
I agree that the touch screen is nothing but a complementary option for these older games.
Unless it a game like the Mushrom Hunt.

Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls dungeon crawls to iOS

If you like this game, you should try Labyrinth of the Goblin woo.
Its a dungeon puzzle game on android and although it doesn't have battle modes, you have to find your way through dungeons with out getting caught.
Kinda like SAW and Blaire Witch Project!

Hey Japan, stop making me save the world

Nov 11th 2011 2:29AM (Joystiq)
I dunno, but I think this article applies not only to Japanese Games, but all games, and ultimately, all movies.

Since its a game, you need an objective, and an ending, so of course sooner or later every plot feels like, been there, done that.

I was recently playing a game called Labyrinth of a Goblin, and it felt kinda new.
It is like the movie SAW where you are suddenly told to participate in a game, and no explanation is provided.

Of course, sooner or later, this pattern would be over done too, but at least it feels refreshing.

BTW, my absolute all time fave in RPG is the CHRONO series!

The Joystiq Indie Pitch: High Flyer Death Defyer

This game reminds me of HYPER JUMPER, only from a different angle and intricate graphics.

Both look cool cuz I like flying/falling games :)
