There's such an amount wrong with this! Disclaimers on press releases...Who do they think they are, EA, now? arkweld, I'll see your "idiotic" description of this, and raise you a "diabolical".
That first line of the disclaimer also rings alarm bells towards the state of the support interest. In their own words, the service merely need be technically "available", at least to begin with. Whether you're able to access it or not, is of secondary importance. Also, LOL @ tying the popular character skin from the first game in to the "limited-time-only" set. What a load of rot.
That picture's especially funny because that, basically, was all I got from the live-action trailer(s). There are reapers, heading for Earth, and that's not a good thing! Her facial expression's priceless, lol :p
That reminds me a bit of...If this is anything like the gameplay of (Konami's) Ring of Red, that would be something! While, in terms of visuals the backdrops look a little like created tabletop game battlegrounds. I like the art palette that they show here, a lot.
@Alex Oglitchkin That's one of the things that interests me most about TERA, actually, is how the races are NOT at war with one another (and, on that point, out of interest, how does the game show opposing characters in PVP situations?)
The lore, the last time I looked at it, does point out unrest and conflict, but at the time of the game these barriers have collapsed, and everyone is free to make his own decisions in the game. I think this presents a really exciting dynamic, and would like for that not to fall by the wayside, as the game grows.
No, I have the full thing, including EoN, but I found it a bit long-winded to play last time I tried, and content serving as group-gates meant that I would regularly find progress difficult and waits lengthy.
I also find it discouraging that I can't pick skills that I WANT to use, but instead it's expected and designed to consider the way one chains to another, and for groups, if I were not to have *miraculously divined* that a particular skill or group of skills were necessary to play my character, from the large array acquirable (why don't you have ... but yet you're a ... class), then that would also put me off playing groups quests.
I could just go and pick from a guide or a list somewhere, but then I feel like it's not so much my adventure, I see little point in making someone else's character.
Under such conditions I wouldn't want to, replay GW, especially not Factions. (that faction questline is grim) It may not be for me. I find the rigid nature of GW to be too restrictive.
I'm not sure about Guild Wars 2. Not from a quality pov, but from a time thing. I feel like TSW, depending on what it offers and how it's offered, may be a more relaxed, laid-back thing to get in to.
In brief, there will be a wait due to testing and loading of the servers, but all flagged transfer players and beta testers will receive an email to let them know once Aion EU is up. Expect something like 8-10h wait before that, all being well.
You thought of Halo, while that one Britney Spears video, Till the World Ends came to my mind watching this. This trailer though, it's just too heavy, the sequences aren't great. It's artificial and unbelievable before you get in to live-action Shepard's awkward fit with the CG.
A lot of the cause of this I think is the goal, the unending pursuit of carrot upon stick. I usually find that there is little "play" to an mmo. If I want to be included in the party, I'm going to have to well fill a role, it's expected, or else we might not get the prize. This would be a catastrophe!
If somebody else were to get the prize instead, well that would be awful, because we might not be able to. Which, in some people's opinion would represent a situation that taking part was just a poor use of their time. Well-meant warm congratulations in that environment? Good subject today, Karen.
@tentimes Who would NCSoft pursue in the EU? That region's publisher has no direct connection to Blue Hole Studios, whilst En-Masse Entertainment was set up by people formerly employed there, who have previously been found guilty in a court of law.
