@Uncle Jesse It is what it is. It's not like there are a host of games doing better. A game designed from the ground up for this could/would probably allow for more natural speech patterns, but as is they had to keep it limited to make it work as well as it does. It's never going to be anything more than a word / phrase list though and as such you can't expect it to randomly understand the differences in how you, I and others choose to express certain commands.
I'm pretty sure the kinect fuctionality isn't designed to get people to buy a kinect, but more for giving people who buy ME3 and who already have a kinect an interesting use for it.
@Negatron I don't know you, but by reading your post I'd say that it's not that you've been lucky, it's that you've been smart. Most people don't care until something happens then it's someone elses fault. I can't recall the number of times I've consulted for a business and told them they needed to change their password policy only to have them flat out refuse even the most basic of basics.
@eat it Some, certainly not most. That "flaw", if you want to call it that, is definitely not the only reason some accounts were accessed. You can only do so much to protect people from their own stupidity and laziness. At some people people have to take responsiblity for themselves.
We realize that Japan doesn't really matter in the gaming world as a whole these days, but we're a Japanese company and had we not released it there first it would have been a slap to the face of our loyal customers. The release of this product was geared more towards western audiences and that is reflected in the early Japanese sales figures. We expect much higher sales numbers as we release in other territories.
@nerdydesi1 I've said it here before. Sony missed a great opportunity with the Xperia play. It should have been a whale of a gaming phone. Tegra 4, etc, something with some series mobile gaming hardware, but still a phone with a form factor that was phone-like. It would have been a unique device, not just another android phone or just another portable gaming system and IMO it would have sold like hotcakes. Unfortunately, just as they seem to done during this entire gaming generation, they went the opposite direction that the market seems to want to go.
Microsoft had good intentions, but the cable companies aren't going to willingly do anything to screw up their monopolies. Allowing people to pick and choose content works against everything the TV providers believe. This is what morphed into the current localized provider relationship, ie, if you have comcast, you can get comcast TV on your xbox. It'll take the government busting up these monopolies for this to ever change and they're getting paid well to make sure it doesn't happen.
