I don't get why everyone thinks these are so exspensive. For 8 bucks you get a new charater to play and a pretty cool little figure. I buy a couple here and there its not so bad. Sure if you add it all up it sounds like a lot but you can do that with anything.
I bet most of you saying they are exspensive spend more than 8 bucks a week on fast food or coffee or something stupid. You buy a lunch or coffee or whatever everyday @ 6 bucks a pop, thats 30 bucks a week. Over the last 12 weeks (roughly the same amount of time skylanders has been out) thats $360. See what I did there.
It's a cool idea that's well executed with good character design and a quality product (both the game and the figures). I will gladly pack a lunch every day to buy this crap for myself..er I mean my 6 month old son.
Go to target or toys r us like right after open on a friday, saturday or sunday.
Toys r us seems to get shiments of them on saturday mornings. They did jack up their prices on them though which is shitty. Went in the late afternoon last saturday and all they had were about 10 of the Ice land expasion packs.
Target hasn't jacked their prices up and they gets shipments everyday but they never know when they will actually get Skylanders on them. Went there last sunday @ like 8:30 before I picked up breakfast and they had just received a shipment. Got the only Whirlwind/DoubleTrouble/DrillSargent 3 pack they got I was pretty pumped.
I don't think its Activision trying to keep the demand high. It looks to me like the production can't keep up with the demand. It almost looks like each figure is hand painted since I've noticed some sloppy paint jobs on the new production runs.
They are probably working those poor little Chines kids to death trying to keep up with demand!!! The more I think about it I should probably stop buying them.
I actually I think this game apeals to RPG fans that don't enjoy the Elder Scrolls games and Dragon Age etc. They are out there, I have been a life long RPG fan and can't stand these 2 series but am really looking forward to Kingdoms of Amalur.
Go buy more Skylanders toys now
