@Starcade it's because of the strong yen. Almost their entire yearly loss can be attributed to the unfavourable exchange rate.

My concern is that a new drought will occur. Of that list it is more than likely that only Kid Icarus, MGS, Kingdom Hearts and Mario and Sonic will be given localised releases. While Japan seem to be getting plenty of 3DS games right now my concern is that too many developers jumped ship when it looked like the system was tanking and now nothing is in development. Like what happened with the PSP. It then becomes a vicious cycle, no games means low sales, low sale means no development. I don't want to see the system end up like the PSP, big in Japan dead in the West.

So what's out in six months? Or twelve months? Don't we usually hype games for a year or so before release these days?

@pluupy except that the non-Miyazaki directed Ghibli films don't come close to the same quality as the Miyazaki-directed ones. Even the ones Miyazaki writes but doesn't direct are comparatively lacking.

All of those games were announced at launch. Aside from Monster Hunter has ANYTHING been announced in the last year?

3DS still going strong then. Been light on new game announcements of late though. Anything exciting on the horizon?
