Is Best Buy right in not honoring $9.99 big-screen TV offer?

Aug 13th 2009 2:47PM (AOL TV)
It is a difficult situation, but I do think that Best Buy should hold up their offer. These consumers were obviously taking advantage of an unfortunate situation, but still, this situation was solely the responsibility of Best Buy. It is never the consumer's fault if a company screws up, no matter how well aware of the situation when the consumer purchases it.

Best Buy shouldn't honor the deal because of goodwill, but because they listed a product, people purchased it, and they must fulfill their orders to their consumers.

The Emmy Nominations

HOLY CRAP TONY SHALHOUB WAS NOMINATED.

Sure they just didn't copy and paste?

Chris Columbus' 'Percy Jackson and the Olympians' Looks VERY Familiar

Jul 15th 2009 6:41PM (Cinematical)
Folks, it's a teaser trailer, and it's impossible not to admit that this trailer is very reminiscent of Harry Potter, and for very good reason.

We have no idea what the movie will really look like, but from all accounts regarding this trailer, it's marketed very much as a Potter clone.

Terrific Trailers: Miami Vice

Jul 3rd 2009 10:24PM (Cinematical)
I had a special place for this trailer, because it was the first thing I ever saw on a digital screen, and I was blown away. This still remains as one of my favorite trailers of recent years, it was well-paced, well-timed, and really captured Mann's very modern, digital style.

Of course, the movie was a bit of a letdown, but I still thought it was okay.

What should happen to Pitchmen now?

Jun 30th 2009 6:48PM (AOL TV)
I'm all for continuing the show. Sure, the loss of Billy Mays is a large loss to the program, but there was a lot more to it than just him, and I would love to see it continue. I always thought it was a really interesting look into the world of telemarketing.

Subtle Subtitles: The Tonight Show

Upon seeing the first check from his stint hosting "The Tonight Show," Conan immediately commissions a life-size statue of his ego.

So, Shrek's not going to copy the Blackadder movie names any more? Shame.

Otherwise, it's a pretty dull lineup. Somewhat interested in that superhero project with Downey Jr. and Tina Fey, but who knows.

Is it possible to hate Family Guy but still like Seth MacFarlane?

May 25th 2009 3:20PM (AOL TV)
I completely agree with your statements. There are a few gems in the series, but I only laughed wholly at one episode this season, which was the Road to Germany.

But overall, it really is a disjointed show, that has all these ideas for comedy, but just can't get them together.

And I'm sorry, I've seen nearly every episode of this show (roommates), and I don't get the knee thing either. They just do it over and over again, and it's still as pointless and annoying.

New Star Trek kicks the ass of every other Star Trek

May 9th 2009 5:19PM (AOL TV)
Look, if anything, this movie corrected what was wrong with Star Trek (movie-wise), in the first place. In Star Trek IV, when they give the formula to a Plexiglas manufacturer in exchange for a tank to hold the whales, they ask what will happen if they give this guy the formula, and that subsequently changes history.

The way they correct this plothole is by putting in a line which Scotty basically says, "Well, how do we know that he DIDN'T invent it?" and they just go on their way.

This movie is quite literally a reboot. It restarts Trek from the very beginning, but still connects it back to the original films and series enough to get former fans back into the series. It's not like the other stuff never happened, it's just a different universe.

Star Trek has done far worse and far stupider things than this, and that J.J Abrams had the decency to at least give you a bit of connection back to the originals, instead of just erasing everything and starting over, shouldn't be taken for granted. It's what we've got now, and for that, I think they did a pretty damn good job.

And that's enough of me geeking out for the day, I feel like an idiot.

Scrubs: My Finale (series / season finale)

May 6th 2009 11:39PM (AOL TV)
That was wonderful. I can't think of a more fitting ending to one of my favorite shows.

After that, I really do hope that this is the end, because I'm really not left wanting more, it did exactly what it needed to do. It was funny, touching, and wrapped up enough that I'm not left wondering. One of the best finales I've ever seen.

Did notice a few more missing in that line though, we didn't see Dick Van Dyke's character, and I don't think I noticed Molly Clock either.

But that's really nitpicking. I loved the show, and I'm glad the finale turned out so well.

I'll miss it.
