Gotham City Impostors plays dress-up starting Feb. 7

Feb 1st 2012 2:32PM (Joystiq)
The beta's really fun. Definitely buying this. Tonally it really reminds me of TF2. But a console version of TF2 that's awesome. Also, Batman-themed, so that can't hurt.

I love football/soccer and I've never heard of these games.

Alan Wake's American Nightmare, I Am Alive part of XBLA's 'House Party 2012' [update: Now with trailer!]

Jan 9th 2012 11:00AM (Joystiq)
I Am Alive sounded interesting but then I saw some graphics that just looked... yuck. I'm by no means a snob in that regard but they looked really bad. Alan Wake looks really good though, I'm glad they're going to a downloadable format because it suits the episodic format that they went for in the first game. I also think more people might play this one because it's an XBLA game (cheaper!) which is good.

Report: Activision scoops up blackops2.com

Jan 9th 2012 10:56AM (Joystiq)
This is alright. I actually really enjoyed the Black Ops campaign because it felt different to at least the Modern Warfares it was sandwiched in between. You usually played as the one main character and when you didn't it was all built around his story, as opposed to being a bit all over the place in the Modern Warfare games. Would prefer them to try something new but if they do another Black Ops before that, I can think of worse ideas.

Like a new Modern Warfare.

Gears of War 3: RAAM's Shadow DLC Review

Dec 19th 2011 9:37PM (Joystiq)
I completed it a couple of days ago and haven't had issues nearly as severe as the ones described in the review. I had one in the table section with tickers where Tai got stuck on a table. Was mildly annoying but that's been my only problem. It pretty much plays like Gears 3 with emergence holes and a few tactical changes which is nice, I enjoyed the emphasis on flanking which wasn't so prominent in Gears 3.

I really love this DLC. First of all because it's freshly created campaign stuff which I always appreciate, unlike something like LA Noire where the extra missions were purely cut content. The story's kinda interesting considering where we've gone since Gears 1, the characters are fresh (either underdeveloped in previous games or previously only seen in comics and novels), the gameplay's in line with the rest of the series and the RAAM levels are cool just because you make dudes EXPLODE INTO BLOOD!
