@Gmail Calendar Rep In the modern world, if it doesn't say resistive, it's glass. AMOLED, Super AMOLED (+), IPS, blah blah blah. All glass, all capacitive.
@Tristan77 That's because Joystiq isn't a tech site, genius. Everyone knows to go somewhere else if you want the innards torn down. This is a gaming site, and, as such, anything that is non-gaming is non-essential fluff that either takes away from the overall experience or adds to it. Apparently, according to the reviewer, most of the Vita's extra features are sub-par and pointless; however, its gaming capabilities are good.
@bm111 The PSP never had a redesign... Increased screen brightness and a slimming down do not a redesign make. More like a facelift. There's not a whole lot to take away here. They will eventually stop offering the 3G model (I'm just going to go out on a limb and guess no one is going to bother with the added cost just to mess with sub par social apps when any phone will do it better), but that's just not offering something.
Since everything is on proprietary carts instead of bothering with any sort of drive, there isn't much to strip from this one. There's no real point in taking out the cart drive, unlike the UMD (which actually weighed something and added quite a bit of heft to the system: see the PSP Go).
Basically, there's not going to be a redesign. There are no features missing from the PSV (unlike the 3DS). The only things to change would be placement of buttons (unlikely, simply due to Sony's convention when it comes to controllers), the finish (I'm sure a matte version will be released eventually), or perhaps removing features that aren't used, none of which would overtly affect that overall design.
Prices are too high for vita stuff. Everything is too high. Plus, I don't want a console experience in my hand. I want a handheld experience in my hand.
